2021 College Football Season/Playoff Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Any word on if there were any rubber ducks on the 50 yesterday?

No I'm pretty sure the Oregon loss makes it less likely, not more.

Oregon has to lose again otherwise. They're simply not gonna overlook Oregon winning IN Columbus. Won't happen.
See Virginia Tech’s 6 loss team in 2014.

If yesterday's performance is a sign of things to come, OSU is right in the thick of it for sure. That said, they're going to need some help.

Bama/Georgia - At least one gets in, and if they're a combined 25-1, they probably both get in. Obviously, SEC chaos would be ideal so they get only one team
Penn State/Iowa/Michigan - OSU will have their chance to knock off each of these teams
Cincy - probably need them to lose one
Oklahoma - need them to lose one, which seems inevitable at this point
Oregon -need them to lose again, and they almost certainly will

Excluding the Big Ten teams, that's 5 teams clearly ahead of OSU right now that we can't pass without them losing. So, we need 2 of Bama/Georgia/Cincy/Oklahoma/Oregon to be eliminated. I like those chances.

Is there anyone really worried about Oregon losing another game?

OSU wins out, they’ll be in.

Yep, resume is more important than head-to-head. Oregon could lose again but we have 4 teams on our schedule that are tougher than any of their remaining opponents (MSU, PSU, UM, probably Iowa).

It might be a tough call if we're both 1-loss teams, but we'd have the edge IMO.

Winning out the B1G takes care of most of this and if we can't do that then the Playoff might be a miserable experience anyway.

Bama & Georgia are both penciled in already regardless of the SEC championship results unless chaos reigns.

Edit: AP Poll already put us ahead of Oregon lol. We don’t have to worry about the committee, we need to worry about the B1G.

If Texas finishes Oklahoma off, Ohio State is sitting pretty. Though unlikely, could open it up for 2 B1G teams in the playoff if not Cincinnati.

Tied game in Dallas.

I think OU got away with another hold on that 52 yard TD.

Oh man. OU takes the ball back on the kickoff at the Longhorns' 18.

Not looking good for an upset.

EDIT: Right on cue, a touchdown from the first play of the drive.

48-48 with 1:23 left on a 31 yard TD to Xavier Worthy.

Game of the year so far.

Holy shit.

After 15 years…..Texas is still not back

Imagine that. Sooners bench rattler and look like a totally different team

Back to German beer

Spencer Rattler has gone from potentially the first QB off the board in a weak QB draft to potentially not even having a starting job anymore.

Crazy how quickly his stock has plummeted.

Auburn is really good every like 4-5 years. In between, everyone expects them to be very good when they are like a 7 win team.
