From where? They aren't selling tickets off this. They could get the same merch even if they just announced an allstar team and sold special edition jerseys.

Tv money maybe but I doubt TNT gives that much of a shit about the nba allstar game. This is stupid and if the ~24 best players in the nba get taken out because of a superspreader event that was entirely preventable, this is a shit look for the league. More incompetent than godell
 
The weirder piece is why did the NBAPA agree to it? Chris Paul is bestie's with Lebron and the Pres of the Player's Union....Why are they not on the same page? I agree Atlanta is a dumb place to have it, but he seems totally against it. Just doesn't make sense why they agreed to it.

TV money is worth more than fan attendance! You get more viewers on TV than you do at arenas. That’s why they had the bubble last year and why they had the season this year although fans couldn’t attend!
 
Not exactly a needle-mover but I do find it kind of funny that Derrick Rose is going back to the Knicks and that the Knicks are actually an upgrade for him. We live in very strange times.

Porzingis was always a suspicious player to me, injury prone and more awkward than he should be -- he was supposed to combine size and perimeter athleticism/skill but his only reliable element is size. I thought giving him the giant extension was a mistake, that is going to be an albatross.

This is nonsense that the NBA is forcing them to play it. Fact is the NA before sporting events is an old vestige of war and needs to end. Players are not required to be patriotic. Dallas did the wise thing and ended it, the league should follow suit. Instead they go in the other direction.

The Hawks would be so much better if Young were as good as the metrics say.

He's no Steph Curry. The only reason his advance stats are high is because he gets an absurdly unfair amount of unearned FTs. His percentages are more than pedestrian.

Capela is playing like a monster, they've got legit role players, and aren't winning. He's not a star.
