Not posted here, but Embiid's comments about Simmons were just fucking brutal. And damn did the Sixers fuck up by not keeping Butler. Butler and Embiid had real chemistry together. And it's clear he still longs for Jimmy. Simmons is also liking tweets that show exactly how much he can be fined for everything he skips.

This gonna be another giant black mark for Rich Paul when it's all said and done.
I wanted to give Rich Paul the benefit of the doubt since it seems like he worked hard to get where he was....but X has been right on him since the beginning. Dude is way in over his head and has not done the best for his clients, dating back to the Nerlens rejecting an extension. Even after that, sounds like he cost him several 40m+ contracts in the last few years. I hope we don't get gouged by Garland on this

The dude is dating Adele....may as well just quit and lock that shit down, watch bank account get fat.

I think this look at me I won't do what you tell me and rejection of vaccines thing is being taken too far by some of these players.
just get in line like everyone else you prima donna bitches it's a vaccine not a loaded gun

I would strongly suggest staying away from broad comments about the virus/vaccine like this one unless you're doing it in the politics forum.

Morey is escrowing Simmons money, in anticipation of fining him until he caves.. In theory, he could fine Simmons almost 20 million this year..

Morey is also making comments comparing this to Green Bay's dispute with Rodgers, where Rodgers is playing and well.

I personally don't see this as helping reconcile Paul or Simmons.. This along with Embliid's "surprising comments" will IMHO further inflame Simmons..

With no takers anywhere near Morey's ask, I think this story will dominate the Sixers until it resolves..

I can also say they’re likely too goddam stupid to understand.

Apparently, reading comprehension levels have dropped. If you'd like to discuss your belief that the unvaccinated are "goddam stupid", please sign up for the politics forum here:

And then discuss your opinions here:

Goddamn, people went right back to the COVID talk not even ten posts following a very clearly stated warning to cease and desist.

LISTEN TO MY TAG-TEAM PARTNER MR. Q-TIP WHEN HE WARNS YOU!

We're two posters lighter for a few days as a result. The next person that does it gets a week.

I always err on the side of leniency. But I had to deal with some of the greatest shammers in the world in PVT Joe Snuffy, and the E-4 Mafia, for many years so do not think for a moment that the knife-hand* won't come out and that I won't come down hard on people who cannot follow clear instructions.

The thread has been sterilized of the COVID talk, however, if I deleted a comment of those who were not banned it isn't a warning or anything. Just incidental.

Now back to the Simmons Saga.

This Ben Simmons saga may have some major implications for the next CBA. This is just the latest case of a player deciding they don't want to play out their contract and bailing to one of a handful of teams limiting their current team's ability to find a decent deal. AD and Harden as notable cases.

Ben is by far the worst case as the other guys at least showed up to training camp (even if it was in a fat suit).

As much as I don't like a lot of the way LeBron does stuff, he has at least always honored the contract and given 100% when push came to shove in the playoffs.

I really expect the owners to crack down on this and include some honor the faith kind of clause. Its one thing if a player doesn't like their situation and requests a trade and works out a deal to stay home with the team (John Wall on a rebuilding Hou for example, Iggy with Mem). That seems reasonable since both sides are working together on it.

But when a player decides they want out after signing a 4 year extension bc they don't want to live in that city anymore or think the team is capped out? That is some bullshit. Now we are hearing rumblings Zion wants out and he may go the route of Ben (and what Kyrie nearly did with the surgery in Cle). It especially some bullshit when your team is a contender. I want nothing to do with Ben Simmons because he actively represents everything that I don't want in my teams culture without backing that shit up on the court. Beyond just the part that I don't think he is the kind of player you can build anything around. Again to the LeBron point, don't like how he does stuff but he always showed up in crunch time.

Any sports business has a legitimate reason to have some competitive balance. It’s also not good having the superstars that draw fans to games concentrated in a few teams.

Ben is just a baby. Baker played like crap today and owned it completely as he should. If Ben isn’t up to facing the media (which also means he’s hiding from the fans) that’s weak, but to them refuse to report and have your minions do your whining for you is beyond pathetic. This is not doing players in general any favors, as it may well influence owners going into the next CBA

1) Ben Simmons is giving infinite leverage to the owners in the next CBA negotiations
2) Rich Paul is a douche, in over his head, an caters to Lebron. Clippers look good? We won't be sending any of our guys there.
3) I cannot believe Earthquake took that bump in @Sebastian gif

The next CBA session is going to be long and extensive. There are a lot of issues that will be stumbling blocks to a new agreement (the Simmons situation, buyouts and the vet minimum contract situation)
