2021 Season | Series #46 | Indians @ Yankees | Sep. 17-19

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Nothing would be sweeter than to end the Tribe era with the EE than
a sweep by Cleveland that cripples the EE chances of a postseason
berth.
Edwin Encarnacion?

Oh right, never mind.

Lets say that Frazier can play next year. He has three years on control left and will be in his second arby.

Would you trade Zimmer for him?

Would you trade Mercado for him?

Not me.

In virtually the same amount of career PAs....

Frazier.......0.2 fWAR.
Zimmer.....2.6 fWAR.
Mercado...1.9 fWAR
Interesting question, assuming he has no lingering vision issues. I would've said "hell yes" before Zimmer got called up and Frazier continued to struggle but Frazier has been so bad at defense that it'd be tough to send him out into the outfield (somewhere between Harold and Naylor in UZR).

While I do think he has a lot more hitting potential than either of them, the defensive issues would make the move difficult to pull.

Mercado YES..
Zimmer No..
You'd trade Mercado for a blind guy?

From the AP:

Frazier was placed on the injured list July 1 with what was initially called vertigo and later defined as a possible vision issue. He missed nearly all of the 2018 season with lingering concussion symptoms, but it’s not clear if his current concerns are related.

A 2013 first-round pick by Cleveland, Frazier hit well in 2019 but was banished to Triple-A for much of the season following several defensive miscues.

He finally cracked New York’s crowded outfield for regular playing time in 2020 and shined. He batted .267 with a .905 OPS and steadier defense in left and right field, earning an everyday role for the 2021 season.

The breakout has fizzled this year. Frazier hit .186 with five homers and a .633 OPS in 66 games before going on the IL.

If he passes a physical I'd give him a minor league invite, but I'm wondering if his concussion from 2018 is causing recurring problems.

The question came with a qualifier that he could play next year. I still don't know what position he'd actually play, given how terrible he has been at outfield.

We don't know what his condition is.. not blind.. not not blind.. Assuming good health.. he'd be a change of scenery candidate..

The Hamster beats out an infield hit, then quickly moves towards another 30-30 season.

Kluber is still Klubot.
Kluber is going to have his moments.. but his recent history is showing that instead of going deep and controlling the game.. he gets hit.. second time through the order should be revealing..

Plesac just needs to keep his slider down to these guys.. if he does.. they have a LOT of trouble manufacturing runs..

I was referring to Klubers mound demeanor.
