2021 Series #1 | Indians @ Tigers | April 1st, 3rd, and 4th

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I completely understand why some didn't like him, I really do. But I find myself more irritated by the dull cookie-cutter types who have nothing to offer in the way of color or perspective. Hawk at least had the virtue of being unique. And yeah, I was surprised as anyone he was going into the Hall as a broadcaster but I don't have a problem with it.
You can put it on the board, yes...I'm a Hawk fan. Whenever Giambi hit his memorable home run late in September a few years ago, the Cleveland media played Hawk's deadpan call the next day. Priceless.

I'm not sure if people realize how talented this bullpen is at the moment. We might measure a bad outing on if they give up hits rather than runs. I think it's the best pen the Indians have ever had.

The Indians are rebuilding at positional players, but they are WS ready in the Bullpen.
A little heavy on the hyperbole regarding the bullpen, IMO,

I don’t think Wittgren is a real back-end arm, but he’s a really good set up/middle reliever.

I do think Karinchak and Clase could both be elite back there.

I’m also high in Maton, Nelson, Sandlin, and think a guy like Hentges could be really good whenever they give up on him as a starter.

I would add Stephan to the mix of relievers to be particularly high on, as his stuff looks electric.

Probably Quantrill as well.

That list was off the top of my head. I’m sure there are other guys in the upper levels of the minors that I’m forgetting.

Our bullpen, heck our entire team, is underestimated. But our bullpen is not better than the White Sox, notwithstanding the issues their pen had in LA this past series. Chicago's pen is just filthy.

And you can't like our pen without also liking Wittgren and Oliver Perez as veteran stabilizers and big contributors to the bullpen's success. You just can't.
How do you believe this entire team is underestimated? Just about every human being that follows MLB expects Cleveland's pitching to perform well. Most, if not all of those folks also believe that this team is lacking offensively. When comparing this lineup to teams like the White Sox, Twins, Yankees, and other likely playoff teams then it's hard to argue against them. There are just too many questions that need answered. That doesn't mean that there aren't answers, just that they haven't been revealed yet and this team may not have the personnel to do so.

The only reason Quantrill is in the BP is due to the SP depth and the fact that his IP cannot cover an entire 162 game schedule. McKenzie is in a similar situation and it wouldn't surprise me to see him and Quantrill switch roles at some point in the season. They view Quantrill as a starter, and they should because that's where his greatest value lies.

This is the worst thing that has ever been created.

And there are sperms and eggs that have collided throughout history to generate murderous dictators and @Chardon

I hated the way Harrelson would openly root for the Sox. When a Sox pitcher got two strikes on an Indians' hitter Hawk would say something like, "Come on, punch him out right here". Then if he did we'd get the "He gone!" crow.

If the Tribe was up 9-0 and an Indians hitter struck out we'd still have to listen to Hawk say "He gone!" Made me sick.

Or.. this shit

seriously, i got it, your team just lost on a walk off. But you got to say something.

If we had a filthy lefty, I would agree. We got a great one, but 1 arm short IMO. Whether that ends up being, Gose, Nelson or someone like Sandlin remains to be seen.
Hentges or Gose..would be just fine.. and likely.. Hentges could get his baptism in the Big Leagues out of the pen.. and that would be just fine...
