2021 Series #10 | Indians @ Royals | May 3-6, 2021

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
That and the Twins had his replacement in waiting - top prospect Alex Kirilloff.
who has hit a home run in every game he's played.. or so it seems..

The OF has been a disgrace for some time. Zimmer was suppose to provide hope in the Indians brass that they can find a really good OF prospect.

I only know of, shit I don't know. Indians didn't draft Grady or Brantley, they came through trade. That's our last 2 successful OFs. Naquin, Zimmer, and Frazier was supposed to be a stud OF.

1991. Manny Ramirez. Last good OF drafted by Cleveland.
IDK..

Clint Frazier is a starter for the Yankees..
Anthony Santander is approaching all star level with the O's..
Sam Haggerty is having his moments with the Mariners..

etc..
etc..

Why is Luplow not in the lineup tonight with a LHP toeing the rubber for the Royals? I can't find any reports of him being injured.

Hope Hentges takes advantage of his golden opportunity.

Excuse for asking this, but I took the off-season off:

WHY was it that they didn’t pick up Santana’s option?
Because he cost money. Tribe was in severe cost cutting mode. Plus, they really wanted to see what they had in Jake Bauers.

Excuse for asking this, but I took the off-season off:

WHY was it that we didn’t pick up Santana’s option? I know he hit .199, but he walked a bunch. Was it the money, in a COVID world, or did they genuinely think he wasn’t worth his salary? I guess, he is making less with the Royals than he would have with us, right?

Thanks in advance,

KT
Covid completely wrecked the FA market, except for a handful of teams and specific players. Multiple players did not have their option picked up, or were non-tendered instead of going to arbitration, knowing the costs of those players would be far less in free agency. This is how we landed Rosario for only $8 million and 1 year. Santana basically signed a 2 year deal for the same price as the option year we did not pick up.

In some ways, he has.. he isn't overwhelmed or intimidated.. This is a first step.. We can see the growth before our eyes.. He could become an important part of the pitching staff.. perhaps not this year as a starter.. but certainly as a lefty out of the pen who can get outs over multilple innings.. Even if he gives up a few runs.. he can save the pen for those games the Tribe is in...

I'd rather have Frazier but he's not playing every day. Santander/Haggerty would not be starting outfielders on a good team. Santander hasn't even made it to 1 WAR yet in a season, and he isn't off to an all-star start this year.

Well, the first pitch is illustrative of the season so far. Hernandez hammers it to deep center, but Dyson scampers back to track it down.

After Amed flies to center, the kid doesn't mess around with Jose, and walks him.

Franmil gets his pitch, but fouls it back. That one might have landed in Kansas, if he had barreled it. He eventually walks, after fouling off a full count pitch.
