I guess it depends upon your definition of MLB talent. If the definition is Moonlight Graham, we have a bunch in Columbus.

If it is a player who actually can make a dent over the course of multiple years, we don't have much.

'Proving it' over two months proves nothing. Managing to K at a 30% rate over multiple years doesn't prove it, either.

The Mets are absolutely desperate for MLB talent in the outfield and/or at first base. I highly doubt that they are bombarding Antonetti and Chernoff with offers for the MLB talent we have, like Zimmer, Mercado, Bradley, Johnson, Chang, and Bauers.

Heck, we could trade them an entire outfield and a 1B...and throw in a util guy...without missing a beat.

Zimmer has a career OPS+ of 71 and is 28.

Bauers has a career OPS+ of 83 and is three years younger.

Somebody will rightfully point out that Zimmer has always been hurt, but thats also part of the point.

Zimmer had really bad strike outs when he was up - that is as opposed to the quality strike outs Rosario, Chang and Naylor just exhibited in the 4th inning v the Tigers
