I think the Mets sort of bungled his handling once he got close/called up.

Is he a SS? IMO, no. Is he an above average CF? Yes. I’m happy he’s here.

I feel if Zimmer can stay around .240 or so with around .300 OBP, I am ok with it because of his defense, anyone else have an opinion?

Play Zimmer. His defense and the pressure he puts on defenses on the base paths merit his place in the lineup. That OF we were trotting out there was the worst I've ever seen. My gosh can you note spare 1 position for some pure defense? .240 this year is league average. I'd take him so long as he's hitting above the Jake BauerS line.
