No MLB games are easy to win...bad teams still win games even against superior opponents. ...much has to go right to find victory, All the more when you have multiple starters not really expected to go more that 3 or 4 innings -- then largely expecting middling results in that frame. I'm happy to take every win we get, with no apologies for the opponent. By the time we get to July, we'll likely have different dynamics in play, as will our opponents. We'll see... but in the mean time, I'm enjoying every sandwich....errr, win.

Trevor Stephan in his last three appearances: 4.2 IP, 4 hits, 0 runs, 1 walk, 8 K's. He might be starting to get the hang of this pitching thing. The thing that impressed me most was the 20 strikes in 27 pitches. He really went after them while changing speeds and location effectively.

In fact, the bullpen threw 61 strikes against 24 balls, so they were all very aggressive. No walks and 8 strikeouts in 5.1 innings. It was great to see the whole staff neutralize Mullins after he went 9-for-12 with 3 walks and an 80% on-base percentage against us in the last series.

Stephan has been tremendous for sure. Another weapon for Tito. Yesterday 5 and a third shutout innings by the pen. None of the relivers were James K, Classe, Sandlin or Shaw. Damn!

Gonna miss Ernie Clement when Framnil comes back.

My spectrum is a little broader. If they can keep winning series then they will likely find themselves in the playoffs. I'm not confident that they can make a deep run or anything, but getting there is half the battle right?

I appreciate a competitive team. If they find their way into a playoff hunt, all the better! If they make the playoffs (yes, the Wild Card "counts") I will be ecstatic, and then see what happens next. I'm not confident they have a deep playoff run in them either, but I am all for getting there and giving it whirl. That would be grand.

FWIW, Ahmed Rosario’s 2021 statistics are very comparable to Trevor Story. Who would have predicted that at this point in season? I only noticed this as both players are on my fantasy league team.

It’s possible. But it’s not REALLY the best quality to have in your pitcher. Plus, he also stinks like a rotting corpse. Also not a good quality.
