The yutes came through across the board today. Bradley with a home run, Clement with a walk and an RBI double, Hentges with 3 K's in a scoreless inning against the heart of their batting order, Nelson with 2/3's of an inning scoreless, and Chang with four RBIs and a great defensive play. Stephan pitched 1.2 scoreless innings and struck out three of his five batters.
The only exception was Morgan who gave up 3 runs in 3.2 innings but still had 5 K's and looked good except for two hanging sliders that got taken deep.
When you add in Lavernway's two hits and Zimmer's one that's a lot of contributions from guys who wore Columbus Clippers uniforms recently.
This is exactly what the Indians need to keep pace with the rest of the A.L. leaders; contributions up and down the roster. It was great to see Eddie finally get his first home run at the Prog.
I don't want to get too excited about a sweep against a team that has lost 19 straight on the road, but there's a lot to like from what we've been seeing lately.
Who needs Reyes, Plesac, Bieber, Berto, Cesar, Karinchak, and Clase anyway? Not the Indians. Not today.
