2021 Series #25 | Astros @ Indians | July 1-4, 2021

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I tend to just leave Tito alone unless he contributes to an utter fucking disaster. I love the guy. There's nobody better for us out there. I sat through Wedge and Acta and a little bit of Charlie. Hargrove was before my time. But him and Tito are our best 2 managers.

There are lots of things Tito has done over the years that I disagree with.

I also think he's the best manager in my lifetime--including Grover.

I know we haven't won any World Series's, but since Tito arrived, we've been one of the better if not the best team win percentage wise. He's won a lot of ballgames with us. He's winning more than he should this season alone. Early in the season I called it his worst roster to manage in a Tribe uniform yet. He managed to reach +10 games over .500. Incredible.

I hope the guy has some years left. He's a walking hall of famer managing us.

Don’t know about that. Our pitching was supposed to be good. We couldn’t possibly have expected Bieber, Plesac, Franmil, and Berto would get hurt, or that T-Mac and Logan Allen would suck butt, along with all the other starters.

Sh#t happens. Yes, we have had injuries ... but so have every other team. For those interested, Cleveland has had one healthiest teams (other than Boston on days and tied on number of players).
It just hit all at once.

You can argue that we had more key injuries than not (other than Hill/Luplow types). Yet, overall, this is 500 team or few games better. I got ridiculed pre-season for being too negative. Yet. Fangraphs and 538 are now projecting 81-81.

I even said pitching was cut too thin with trading Cookie. With his injury, it wouldn't have mattered. Yet, we got lucky with hitting on 3 pitchers in Bieber, Civale and Plesac in short order of callups over past few years. This next batch of is taking some extra time to mature and weed through. Sh#t happens. Plan and project on it. Sometimes things go your way like H Ramirez but don't count on everyone staying healthy or being next ROY, being more like Clase than TMac.

And, yes, you can be optimistic and be happy as most were 2 weeks ago with being 2 back while overlooking we had one of the easiest schedules to date. Yet, dont blame just injuries for recent collapse as the schedule also showed our 2nd half was/is much harder than the White Sox.

Tito is good but can't overcome a staff built on just Bieber (vs past years of Bauer, Kluber, Clev, Cookie) and inexperienced hitters. We knew this team couldn't survive if either Bieber or Ramirez went down.

I don’t know of many teams that pretty much lost their starting rotation and kept winning
Our second wave was/is not ready but they are getting getting experience
The trades of kluber Clev and carassco would make no difference. Bauer? Ugh

for as bad as the last week was. We are still only 6 games out and are a 6 game winning streak from maybe getting back in it

Be optimistic ... thats fine. But, you cant cut things razor thin in depth and hope to compete.

You need pitching because arms break down. Teams that win like Mets withstand injuries to Cookie, Syn, DeG and Luchessi.

We will see where July 31 stands. Indians have a tough SOS remaining. Sox have one of easiest still.

What was cut razor thin. No hitter aside kluber is near the end
Clevinger was always hurt in Cleve now second tommy john
Love Carlos but just too many issues
Bauer still effective but no way he was staying

I really do not expect much this year going forward but a few wins before the all star break and they will not be buried

I don’t get your point. Yes this is not a strong team right now but hardly any franchise just stays in contention year after year. White Sox Tigers twins royals. Mariners pirates and on and on. Hell takes with their bloated payroll get nothing

Indians due to $ and covid are in a rebuild no doubt
But as someone has followed the tribe since 70. This is a damn good rebuild lol
