Not fair. Tito probably put the bunt on, not Roberto. Perez was seeing major league pitching for the first time in two months. He had previously executed a perfect sacrifice that set up the RBI groundout by Zimmer. It was the right call, but Berto needed to bunt the ball towards the third baseman, not straight at the pitcher. He also needed to get the ball on the ground.Maybe it's just me, but bunting with a guy on 1st, cool.
On 2nd though? Grow a pair Roberto.
Little things....Quantrill had Straw picked off and the ump missed it and the Indians failed to challenge. It would have been the third out. Straw later scored.
Little things? Tito asleep at the wheel yet again leading to Straw scoring the winning. Yet any criticism of Tito is forbidden here with posters rushing to his rescue despite repeated missteps, IMO.Not fair. Tito probably put the bunt on, not Roberto. It didn't matter, though. Even if he got Harold to third with one out Mercado was going to strike out and Clement wasn't going to get a hit. The Indians needed to prevent that run from scoring in the 10th and go to the 11th with the top of the order coming up.

Clase threw a slider in the dirt to strike out Gurriel, but the ball got away and Gurriel ended up on first, later scoring the winning run when Clase couldn't catch a good throw that probably should not have been made, especially after Amed double-clutched it.
The first base umpire also called Amed out in the first inning when he was safe by two feet. Fortunately the Indians challeged that one. That umpire blows.
No Brantley, Bregman, Tucker or Alvarez but Greinke and the bullpen were good enough.
At least Quantrill had a good start. The first run was due to a blown call by the ump on the pickoff, and the other two came on his first bad pitch of the game, pitch #94. Big improvement from his previous starts and he was working on three days rest. I thought Tito went too long with him. They should never have left him in after 90 pitches.
Gotta love Clement's defense. Too bad he never walks and doesn't hit for average or power. I'm also impressed with Bradley's defense; it's much better than I expected.
Now if we could just get Cesar, Amed, Josie, Eddie, Franmil, Bradley, and Harold all in the lineup in the same game this team could be fun to watch. We're almost there.
Don’t know about that. Our pitching was supposed to be good. We couldn’t possibly have expected Bieber, Plesac, Franmil, and Berto would get hurt, or that T-Mac and Logan Allen would suck butt, along with all the other starters.Everything pointed to this being a mediocre to bad team except the standings. That’s beginning to even out now.
I hear this repeatedly.any criticism of Tito is forbidden here with posters rushing to his rescue
I hear this repeatedly.I hear this repeatedly.
I haven't seen any evidence of it actually occurring.
sorry but that is incorrect. I am not, however, going to further feed your penchant for arguing.I haven't seen any evidence of it actually occurring.
Nice.Think you need to reread posts, especially those from Cats44 and

Except Greinke was not pitching on short rest. He had previously thrown over 100 pitchers four times - all Astros wins. Quantrill's previous high was 77 pitches and he threw 67 pitches four days ago.One could argue that Dusty was asleep at the wheel and left Greinke in for too long, leading to the game-tying HR.
Don’t be an a$$ even though you enjoy arguing with every poster on the board. Frankly not worth my time searching through literally thousands of posts but go ahead and spin this response as you undoubtedly will.Nice.
It's always great when people refuse to defend their takes and instead choose to attack fellow RCF posters.
Happy fourth brochacho
Tito is a net positive.I'm going to play devil's advocate here... but I'd argue we wouldn't have even made it as far as we have without Tito. This team has been decimated with injuries... do you honestly believe someone like Manny Acta or Eric Wedge would have done better? I sure as hell don't.
Tito has a .562 winning percentage with the Tribe. The only other long term Indians manager to do better? Al Lopez who was with us for six seasons in the 50s at .617. Hargrove was .550, Lajoie .550, Speaker .543, Manuel .537, Boudreau .529, Wedge .495, Acta .446... Francona isn't a man without mistakes, but FFS... blaming Tito for every little thing is laughable. Our bullpen has been overworked because of how depleted our rotation is. Yeah, you're going to try and give these guys a little leg to work out of trouble because some of the guys in the bullpen might have their arms fall off by the end of the season.
