Guardians’ James Karinchak on walking the tightrope and being unvaccinated

James Karinchak has made 12 straight scoreless appearances out of the G's bullpen, but he won't be in Toronto this weekend.

MLB expanded its playoff field from 10 to 12 teams this year. Karinchak was asked if he would change his vaccine stance if Cleveland would have to play Toronto in the postseason.

Oscar have in my eyes …….Straw thats a different story, I be okay with Benson S/O until he gets comfortable up here, over Straw weak ass outs to RF and SS…..And I like Straw

We all know Straw plays world class defense... It's that 64 OPS+ that is beyond terrible for a MLB regular. His July numbers are OK at best, but his August slash needs to improve immediately:

He's hitting .301/.783 after 153 AB's, or about a quarter of a season. Still too small a sample, but very encouraging. It's crazy that he's hitting .320 against right-handers but only .255 against lefties with an OPS of almost 200 points lower.

He's also hitting .329 with runners on base and .333 with RISP and two out, so he's been coming up big in the most important at-bats. His plate discipline could improve as he only has 5 walks, but his ability to put the bat on the ball has been impressive and he has good speed and a good arm in the outfield.

I was an OGon skeptic. I think OGon needs to play every day until he shows us he isn't this guy.

Man, how huge will it be if both Kwan and Gonzalez become above-average (or even better) corner OFs for this team? With what we have in the pipeline it would be crazy.

There are reasons to get him (Bo Naylor) up to the CLE squad now & there are other reasons to wait until the end of Spring Training '23.

I am not advocating either plan... Only pointing out the other side so people are not blind to/ missing certain aspects of the equation.
This FO has been right more often then not so I will defer to their judgement on the matter (personal preference be damned).
