2022 Minor League Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
There is a reason I don't bring up the negative things about guys unless it's part of the active convo.

I've had that conversation with this section many times over the years I have been here.

Also, I have no idea what point you are trying to make with that lest sentence.

If you want me to list a bunch of negatives about our guys when I talk about them, I will gladly do so. My posts will be fewer and farther between because it's easier to focus just on a few things just to share with everyone when I am crunched for time as is, but if that's what is wanted that is the route I will go.

And no one is saying "we don't have a 40 man problem" coming this winter. We are saying it isn't going to be as bad as you think it will be, because it won't be.

Friendly reminders for those who struggle with reading comprehension and retaining information.

One of the simplest ways to explain why a Rule5/40 man roster is not that big of a deal is because if you consistently have players you fear losing in the rule 5 draft while also having a farm system as healthy as ever and full of talent, it points to you having both a successful draft/young talent acquisition program and a good developmental program.

From that, it’s not hard to have faith that while you may lose a guy or two that go on to have success in the major leagues, their is a strong pipeline both in front of that guy or two and behind that guy or two.

So if someone is saying that Rule 5 will not be an issue for us, they’re not looking to necessarily argue with you in a group of 20-30 prospects and who shouldn’t and shouldn’t be made room for on the 49 man roster. They’re not saying that we won’t lose a guy. They’re just even saying that a guy we lose might not end up a successful big leaguer. They are saying that this organization and minor league system is built to handle situations like that and is loaded with talent and strong developers or talent. And I think that their is a track record now of that being true and the best days yet ahead in terms of the quality and quantity of front line prospects

So, Nolan Jones has been scorching hot lately with three hits so far today including a HR. It's pretty clear that he's big-league ready and can help this club right now. The question is, where does he play? Is he platooned in RF with Gonzalez? If so, do they want to already limit Gonzalez's plate appearances?

Too bad he's not a good prospect anymore.

Ernie Clement is playing 3B and LF way too much at the moment.

Wouldn't mind giving Jones those ABs (though with him in RF), giving Jose a few more legit days off (not DH'ing) to get him even more ABs, and living with the fact that not every OFer will hit right-handed against a left-handed starter.

Kwan has proven he can handle them at the MLB level. Palacios has handled them at every stop in the minors. Time to stop with the baby gloves treatment and let the kids play and put your best lineup together possible from day-to-day.

Micah Pries homers in his 3rd straight game., 3-4 with 3Rbi. Just won the Eastern League player of the week, seems like he has a chance to go 2 for 2.

For the month of June: 91AB - 5SB - 1CS

The once highly regarded Luis Oviedo may be just about done as his struggles continue in AA ball.

Micah Pries with ANOTHER homer..... A solo shot and his 4th in 4 days! He also has a BB and SB today...

Suspect he wins player of the week again (if you are able to win in consecutive weeks) and likely player of the month.
