2022 Minor League Week 09 Games Thread (5/30-6/5/22)

The CLE affiliates had another winning week going 13-11 with a run diff of +11 on the week. After multiple weeks of winning 2 out of 3 games, a let down was sure to arrive at some point. I'm just happy it was still a winning week.
Now, onto the Week 9 games and most the CLE affiliates are at home this week.

AAA: Columbus (28-20) hosts Toledo (24-22, Detroit affiliate)
AA: Akron (27-18) hosts Richmond (24-21, SF Giants affiliate)
High A: Lake County (23-21) hosts West Michigan (20-25, Detroit affiliate)
Low A: Lynchburg (24-20) hosts Carolina (26-19, Milwaukee affiliate)

Beat me to it ... the AAA roster should be trimmed even more as they had 20 pitchers (19 now). I look at high valued relievers like Miko only pitching every 3-4 days (not even every other day) and think 15 inn is far too light for a guy not with 40 man ramp-up lockout issues.
 
Columbus wins 9-1 to start the week off on the winning foot for the CLE affiliates.
Now onto the Tuesday matchups..

Been a fan of Kelly ever since we drafted him. Smart guy who has always adapted and performed despite meh stuff, reminds me of Eli Morgan all the way. He showed a significant velo uptick in ST, but not sure he's holding it.
Sucks for Broom, but the minors roster spots are really stuffed and it's difficult to hand out promotiions without disappointing anyone else.
 
The knocking on the door from Will Benson is louder and louder. 8th TATER last night, 11th SB, in a 2-4, 1 BB outing. .829 OPS. And he's outhit almost everyone in Columbus except OGOATZ, including longtime board darlings Freeman, Lavistida, and even Brennan though in a very small sample size there.

Bring him up! Still just 23 years old. Average is higher than it typically is. Power/athleticism still there. There are a whole lot worth 4th OFers out there.
 
Good to see Myers have a solid outing. Can't help but notice how cautious they're being with these guys.

Lava with a bomb. It would be nice to see him get hot and called up. It'll happen.

The 33% K rate might be a concern, but he also has a 20% BB rate so.......

They don't need or will want all of Kwan, Palacios, and Benson on the roster will they?

Don't know, but Benson needs a shot and is likely earning it. As long as Mercado has a spot on the roster, there's room.

Would love to see a MASH platoon in RF with Benson and OGOATz.

3H 2K and 4BB in 4 innings is solid?? Damn handing out the As just for turning something in.

Who said it was an "A"? He gave up 0 runs and managed the damage which is a step in the right direction. Is he pitching like he was last season? No, but there may be some progress being made.
