2022 NFL Regular Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It wouldn’t shock me if there’s a mass exodus in from the Rams this off-season. I could absolutely picture a scenario where McVay, Stafford, and Donald all retire and Kupp’s traded for the best draft package they can get.
McVay retire? He's still ways away from 40.

Absolutely. It’s been reported from multiple outlets:

Los Angeles Rams coach Sean McVay is reportedly considered likely to retire once the core of Matthew Stafford, Aaron Donald, Cooper Kupp and Jalen Ramsey are no longer with the team.

"I think there's also an acknowledgment—this is something that I've talked about the last few months—Sean McVay's future with the team is probably tied to those four guys," Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated said on The Rich Eisen Show. "In all likelihood, when those guys are gone, McVay is going to be gone, too.

"So, I think the way they look at this is, 'We have to do everything we can to maximize what we've got right now. Because we've got a special, special coach, and we've got a special core of players. Maybe that lasts for another year. Maybe it lasts for five. Whatever that period of time is, we need to get the most of those guys right now.'"

If you read further:

" I am nowhere close to not wanting to coach football,” McVay told Eisen in May. " I love coaching so much. The question was asked if I was going to be a lifer in coaching, and then I elaborated on I don’t know if I see myself doing this until I’m 70.

That doesn't sound like a man getting ready to hang it up. Especially a guy that's closer to 35 than 40.

He may be seeing LA will have a long walk in the desert after the core of elite talent is broken up/retired. The Rams only have a 2nd, 3rd, four 6's and a 7th in next year's draft after having a long term picks for players philosophy.

Retire, have a few years with the family while taking a lower stress announcing job or "team consultant" gig to stay around the league. Wait for an up and coming team situation and back in business at 43-45.

McVay could make as much money or more doing the Romo role for a little while and still have NFL teams lined up to offer him a job when he gets bored with that.

Jalen Hurts is the MVP. At this point, playing lights out on the best team in the NFL. Totally demolished the Giants of New Jersey

Debo Samuel may be done for the year. 9ers can’t catch a break.

Tom Brady about to lose to a QB that was drafted Lower than he was. Has that even happened before?

Brady just lost to a rookie starting for the first time, for the first time.

it's a beautiful thing.
if the Panthers some how pass 'em in that dismal NFC South, it will be even more beautiful.

Sucks for Kyler……and my RCF Dynasty team.
