Great pitching and defense by the Tigers. That rookie Rodriguez may have come in with an ERA over 9.00 but he pitched very well today.
That's the second time Daz Cameron has turned a loss into a win with a spectacular catch, both times against Rosario.
Tough break that Grossman got hurt and they had to bring in Candelario, who hit the game winning HR.
That was a very impressive at-bat by O-Gon in the 9th against a guy throwing 99 on the outside corner. But on the 8th pitch Soto came inside and hit 101. Gotta hand it to him.
Like I said upthread, the Tigers have one strength - their bullpen. You have to beat their starter. The G's got a break when Rodriguez had to leave after four innings, but the Tigers' bullpen was up to the task.
Straw is not a good hitter. We'll be better off when we find a better leadoff hitter. But I'm liking the Ramirez/Miller/Naylor/OGon/Gimenez middle of the order. And I think Maile should be starting over Hedges. The difference in offense is significant and I haven't noticed any problems with Maile's defense.
