2022 Season | Series #21 | Guardians @ Dodgers | June 17-19, 2022

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Don’t think so.. will present my idea (mad as it might be) shortly
The only other choice is Oscar and I think they still want to see what they got with him……Does Clement have any option left, and maybe move Miller over to third base if Jose need a rest or more time with his thumb ?

Wow, I miss 90% of the game but caught the end! Will watch the replay in the morning on Bally. Gonzalez homered? Clement had 2 hits and a sac fly for the 5th run? And Straw had a double and a walk? Next thing you’ll tell me is that Hedges stole 4 bases!

Guardians inching up to 29% chance win division. Twins remain the favorites.

I think Civale is Scheduled to pitch Tuesday, I might be inclined to go with TMac the first game ( regular schedule) to see could I still that first game …..And pitch Civale Wed……..

Sorry I give more credibility to fivethirteight over bleacher report. No laughter necessary.

Ok.. here is the roster movement plan I have.. Please read all the way thru before ripping it a new one.... :lgh (21):

As the team looks to activate Civale & Franmil, at least 1 pitcher has to be sent out. The max pitchers on the roster is 13 and the team is already at that limit. To add Civale, I figure Castro gets sent to the minors (as he still has an option remaining for this year). Sandlin is another option, but of the 2 I believe Sandlin stays.

To add Franmil the club could reduce itself to 12 pitchers (send out Sandlin), but I doubt that will work with Tito. As a result I would send out Oscar Gonzalez as he has been scuffling recent (despite hitting HR #1 in today's game). With today's results he is 3 for 23 (or so). That is scuffling. Pitchers have started abusing him with breaking stuff outside or completely off the plate. He has to layoff that pitch. To work on that he needs to play regularly and AAA Columbus has a loaded & crowded OF at the moment.

To open up the playing time I would also call up Nolan Jones. He can play all 4 corner spots (1B-3B-LF-RF) and calling him up before IIRC Thursday prevents his 2nd option year being burned up. To open the spot for Jones, I option out Ernie Clement. In this case Jones can be the backup to JRam and Richie Palacios can also serve as a backup to 2B (depending on movement during the game).

To recap:
I add/activate Civale, Franmil, Nolan Jones
I send out: A Castro, Oscar Gonzalez & Ernie Clement

Ok... let the responses commence. :coffee: :popc1:

Anticipating backlash to your Nolan Jones call up suggestion so I checked his stats this season and was pleasantly surprised despite the dreaded SSS.

Riiiiiiiiip!

Lets address just one thing...

Jones isn't nearly ready to handle MLB pitching. He has only 50 PAs this year, and in spite of every excuse in the books, he has struck out 30% of the time over his last 600 PAs across two levels. While he can play four corner positions, he can't play them as well as Clement, and can't play MIF like Clement.

If you want to save his option year, you'd have to keep him on the roster the rest of the season...making him virtually the same as a R5 kid. Thats a high price to pay to save an option...esp when we are trying to win the division.

I'd suggest something much simpler and straight forward.

Reyes up, Mercado DFAd. Civale up, Sandlin down.

Switch around Palacios/Mercado for Clement and I could see that. I don't think Clement is being sent down personally... Otherwise I don't actually have any qualms with your plan.
