He has just a handful of games now in Akron above old MV. He may see some time in Cle late in year but give him some room to breathe and get experience. We still have Sandlin, Kar and Morris soon that can help in pen.

I'd suggest Vargas is closer to helping the MLB bullpen this season than Cody Morris.
Morris just started throwing bullpen sessions last week in Arizona while Vargas is already on his rehab assignment in Akron..

Neither arrival is imminent..

I'm excited to see both when the time is right. I have to say that Morris is the more disappointing for me because I think he's as good or better than everyone minus Bieber in our current rotation. I hope he can get healthy and remain so for an extended period of time.

Vargas and Karinchak added to the BP makes it ridiculous.......hopefully.
 
McCarty may not get out of the second inning against this team unless there is a gale force wind blowing in from right field.

McCarty went three innings against the Yankees in April, giving up four runs including two home runs. On the season he's allowed five home runs in seven innings.

Any idea why they'd use McCarty? Convenience maybe? I mean I'm pulling for the kid and all, but the likelihood of him not getting blasted is slim.

I'm so confused as to why they didn't just start Civale and McKenzie today.

What are the other options for today?
How do those options impact availability moving forward??

Are those options already on the 40 man roster??? If not, what other roster moves are you making?

Just pitch Civale and McKenzie in games 1 and 2 today. Notice that the Yankees are doing the same with Cole and Cortes, instead of calling up a stiff to get slaughtered.

I agree with this.

Over-under on number of outs McCarty gets today? I think 8 is about right and I'm tempted to bet the under.
