Straw seldom swings at the first pitch.. doing so can result in a safety.. like this AB.. btw.. Kwan needs to take a whack at a first pitch every now and then.. too He's putting himself in a hole (0-1 count) by letting fat fastballs and middle of the plate meatballs go by..

Yeah I got it. Straw and Kwan sit on their pitches, so when they "strike first" it seems surprising. I do expect some more aggressiveness from Kwan in the 2nd half, will slug closer to .450 than .350.
