2022 Season Series #35 | Guardians @ Tigers | August 9-11, 2022

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Royals add one in the bottom of the 8th.

ChiSox down to their last cracks!

I have no problem with Shaw, he makes a perfect 5/6 inning reliever to come in and settle things down…..I just want to minimize his pressure moments in the 8/9 inning of games…..

Sweep, baby! Guardians continue to win one-run games and extra inning games at a phenominal pace. Thank goodness the Tigers came in with four guys hitting below .218 plus a rookie who still hasn't gotten his first hit. Also Miggy being out again helps.

Great job by Plesac until he ran out of gas. Nice to see Tito taking out a starting pitcher BEFORE he blows the entire lead.

Straw might as well be up there will a pool noodle. Fly ball to right or a weak ground out almost every time.

Jose popped out to the infield three times and weakly grounded out twice. Something is definitely wrong physically.

I thought there might be no home runs in this series but there were two today. Who ever thought Kwan would homer in Detroit? Good thing he did.

Freeman had a tremendous defensive play to bail Stephan out in the 8th but couldn't help him in the 9th. We needed a better toss by Gimenez on Haase's ground ball up the middle to get the game ending double play. Rosario almost had to jump to get it and then he lost it in the transfer.

But it didn't matter because DLS got the third out and Oscar did the rest. Two hits by Gonzalez, both to right field. He looks like he's waiting on the pitch and trying to go that way. He had another double down the right field line earlier in the series, IIRC.

Stephan was pitching for the fourth time in five days and it showed. Better give him the next two days off. With Karinchak staying home our bullpen could be hurting.

What a job by Shaw in the 10th! Facing their 2-3-4 hitters with a man on second he went ground out, K, K to bring home the W.

White Sox lose.

That was an ugly game by both teams, but it's the third part of a sweep.

It may only be Detroit, but it beats the hell out of losing three out of four to KC.

*******

We've given up eight runs in the last five games. Thats how winning streaks are built...pitching and defense.

*******

OGonz continues to impress.

+13 run-differential on the year, behind TB (19), Minn (17), and Seattle (15).

Thank god a 3-2 win counts the same as a 10-2 win.

27 I believe is the magic number. Hopefully they’ll be able to reduce it in Toronto.

That's a completely negligible difference over the course of 110 games
