They brought in a lot of people to help settle on the rebrand and team name. A lot of people.

You don’t have to believe it. I was involved in the process and I am telling you what happened though. If you don’t believe me and how popular Guardians was in comparison to the additional alternatives, including Spiders, so be it.

I'm very familiar with online polls and focus groups and the limitations of both of them and the 3:1 ratio is an extremely hard sell, when the most transparent barometers showed what they did. I also remember you being the loudest voice on here complaining about how interest in the team was down this year before it started, after the name change that supposedly few people care about.

Name change wasn't the primary driver of fan indifference.

Low expectations and low payroll were the primary factors, with COVID breaking habits of going to games and the name change as tertiary factors.

When it comes to actual attendance, weather goes ahead of those tertiary factors.

The difference is I'm not whining about it. It is what it is. I didn't start rooting for this team because they were called the Indians or had some goofy logo. And I'm just too lazy to change it.
