2022 Season | Series #48 | Guardians @ Rangers | Sep. 23-25, 2022

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Wow! What an incredible run! I hope they enjoy their evening of celebration because they deserve it, and get home safely. Just think folks, we're just scratching the surface of what MC and CA have built.

Whatever happens now is icing on the cake for me. Win, lose or draw this has been an incredibly successful season. They've made all us rational fans proud.

I really don't think the national talking heads have a clue about us yet. Not a clue!
I just heard somebody on MLB Network call Kwan a unknown rookie. Good Lord!

Everybody in MLB plays for the longball. Or tries to.
The G's are totality different. They play defense, run the bases like their pants are on fire, make contact, and pitch.
Kwan could become a celebrity.

In all fairness, Kwan was a national celebrity the first week of the season.

The Guardians have a 10-game lead and are the only team in the division over .500. If anybody predicted this on Sep. 4, when we were tied with Minnesota and one game up on the White Sox they'd have been laughed off the board.

When we went to bed on Sep. 4 the Guardians had just lost five in a row at home to Baltimore and Seattle by scores of 4-0, 3-0, 6-1, 4-0, and 6-3. The combined score was 23-4. They looked like the Little Engine that finally ran out of steam when they ran into teams that featured pitching and power.

But the next series was in Kansas City and the G's got their mojo back, winning 18 of the last 21. The three games they lost were started by Hunter Gaddis (1) and Cody Morris (2) - guys who spent most of the season in Columbus. The last time we lost a game that was started by a member of the regular rotation was over three weeks ago.

The White Sox have lost six in a row, including getting swept by Detroit at home this weekend. They've scored 10 runs in their last five games. They appear to be just going through the motions.

Their last nine games consist of six against Minnesota and three on the road against San Diego. The Padres are fighting for a wild card spot and need to win. The Sox could easily lose six of their last nine or even more. Talk about crumbling.

The Twins have lost 9 of 11 and are five games under .500. They're also going through the motions.

This is a September nobody could have predicted.

While this will be discussed in depth after the season, Chicago needs a complete overhaul of its roster...which won't happen.

They need a new approach and new players.

They are old...they currently have 19 players who will be at least 30 next year...9 who will be at least 34.

Two of their core players...Jimenez and Robert...can't be counted on to play full time.

The lineup is made up mostly of hit first players who are miserable in the field.

They are already locked into $121 mil...without Abreu, Anderson, Cease, and Kopech. $131 mil if (when) Pollock chooses his player option.

And they have a barren farm system.

Hey man.

I said I guaranteed 100% the slump would break over the other way on 9/2.

Easy to get caught up in short stretches, but you could see a stretch like this coming a mile away just looking at how this team was behaving throughout the season.

Young teams aren't known for their consistency, unfortunately.
