2022 Season | Series #49 | Rays @ Guardians | Sep. 27-29, 2022

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Kwan nearly sent one inside third base...then pops up as Straw had a huge jump.

Amed zings a short hop to third that can't be handled for another inf hit.

"Big bat".

He has yet to post an above average offensive season at the MLB level. Even this season he is 1 0-10 stretch from back to league average numbers. He doesn't get on base and he doesn't hit for power.

Those aren't the makings of a longterm piece in a market that has to be selective with who it locks up longterm money with because getting it wrong sets you way back.

And when has a player wanting another player extended and paid whatever it takes to keep them in their situation ever backfired in sports!?!?

Jose has had numerous best friends and mentors on this team in his time with Cleveland. All of them have moved on and he has too. His opinion on the matter is nice, but Jose isn't making decisions that can affect the long-term success of a franchise with regards to players not named Jose Ramirez.
Well, Amed is 3rd in the league in hits and gor a guy who’s making $4.95 million his stats (I’m not talking about Fantasy stats) certainly stack up favorably with Lindor’s who’ll be averaging $34 Million per year (granted only $10 million this year).

And, while I’m loving what I’ve seen from the young guys this year, like I said Amed is only 26 and from my perspective one in the hand is worth two in the bush.

JRam beats the relay to keep the inning alive for Oscar.

Nice.. a meatball right down the middle that OGonz swung through with the count 3-0... that's what you like to see.. full count now... someone needs to come up with a clutch hit...

nope.. that aint it.. still `1-0...

Oscar takes a rip on a 3-0 count, fouls outside third, grounds to third.

Nada

Amed’s stats couldn’t sniff Lindor’s jock strap.

They’re not even in the same universe.

Quantrill now with 62 pitches through four innings pitches.. after a 25 pitch first inning.. he's only had a couple of hard hit balls.. and nothing across..

btw.. the pop up to Arias playing 1B, an easy play, was made to look as easy as it was.. IOW.. he looked natural/comfortable making the play and ever other play.. so far..

Quick memo to playoff teams playing the Guardians, just go find lefties off the street.

Gah!

Quantrill with his 86th pitch of the inning..

the best was when Quantrill retired Wander Franco who stood there believing the ball was foul.. it wasn't..

still 1-0 going to the bottom of the sixth inning..
