I thought the second half was a great example of what the Browns are gambling on defensively in games.
The Steelers ran the ball 16 times for 88 yards and 2 touchdowns in the first half.
The only ran the ball 6 times for 16 yards in the 2nd half.
Coverage busts and communication issues that plagued them the first two weeks aside, this is a defense built to stop the pass while ultimately conceding the run.
The Browns are not very physical defensively and are particularly weak on the defensive interior. They can absolutely be exploited by teams who have the combination of talent, scheme and play calling discipline to commit to the run over the course of an entire game. You look at several of the Browns losses from last year and when opposing team really committed to the run, the Browns were often in trouble. But few teams actually did.
Frankly most teams either can't do it because they lack the talent at certain spots or simply won't do it because their offensive play caller is just too antsy to call passing plays. The Browns know this and try and use it to their advantage.
