2022 Vent Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I disagree. KS completely ignores when the running game gets on a roll and the offense is feeling it, and dominating. He consistently goes away from it even when we're dominating. Both Chubb and Hunt have been perplexed at times on the sidelines, when they have the juice flowing and supreme confidence KS reverts to some bullshit passing play that usually fails in clutch drives.

That's the whole reason I'm making a point about it. It's happened over multiple seasons, and it's a part of Stefanski's DNA.

His style will be well suited for Watson. His style is lacking when we should be relying on the most dominant aspect of our offensive talent base, which is currently the run game. KS doesn't know how to step on the throat of an opponent when they're on their heels, he lets them off the hook by going to a weaker aspect of our offense. He did it with Mayfield and he does it with Brissett.

I know you hate the data, but when it comes to amount of running, we're near the top of the NFL every single year.

Fans have this mindset that running is the default, and the independent variable. It is not. Every aspect of the offense is intertwined and dependent on the others.

We are, by far, the best running team in the NFL--and a large part of that is because of our play calling mix. If teams can expect the run and load up against it, it won't be as successful.

You have to pass to set up successful run plays--and we do that very, very well.

I don't dispute any of that. But there are times when we go away from the run, when we're dominating. I'm not talking about a wholesale change in the mix. I'm talking about when in key situations, KS simply doesn't trust the running game when it's been clicking.

I view that as necessary.

You have to zig when the defense expects you to zag. That's how you run an efficient offense.

Also, throwing in those situations today shows future defensive coordinators your tendency--so it'll open up better rushing opportunities.

I get what you're saying, but I promise you it isn't our coaching staff "not trusting" anything.

Draft a kicker in the 4th round, see him miss a clutch kick.

And after an all time fucking terrible drive, too. These last two games haven't been the best by Stefanski.

I would be very curious to know if the deep shot to DPJ was the primary read or if Brissett just said fuck it.
