2022 Vent Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Considering following an NFL team is quite literally a just 3 hour a week commitment and that's it, I'm not entirely sure how someone wouldn't have the time to actively root for other team's in the other sports at the same time.

Not root for, I just can’t get into baseball to the level I can basketball and football. Is that so bad?

I’m just not passionate about baseball. It’s a boring sport.

I’ll ROOT for the Guardians til forever.

After my initial disappointment at this sit-com grade and, yes, hilarious meltdown, I am still gripped with a feverish disappointment.
Kind of gnawing, will-sapping world-weariness. It burns.

Browns people: Look what you have done.

Not at all my dude. Baseball is clearly No. 3 for me behind football and basketball too.

Wow!

Are you of the opinion that the browns have comparable draft capital compared to the rest of the nfl over the next two drafts?
I didn’t say that, but way to keep moving those goalposts :)

Might want to reread and check who moved them first.
Happily.

You said Browns have no meaningful draft capital. You were, I assume, referring to their lack of first round picks. I responded that picks beyond the first round are still meaningful in the NFL.

You doubled down that second and third round picks are only good for depth and aren’t impact players. This is a laughable take. The Browns’ best player, Chubb, was drafted in the second round. JOK was drafted in the second round just two drafts ago. Furthermore, first round picks bust regularly, especially later ones.

I said impact players are taken in rounds 2 and 3 every year.

You then moved on to asking about the Browns in relation to the rest of the NFL, which had absolutely nothing to do with the conversation up to that point. This is where you moved the goalposts.

Even still, I’ll humor you. The Browns have a 26 year old franchise quarterback. “Most” of the NFL would happily take that, even if it meant giving up a handful of high picks. Heck, look what the Broncos just did for Wilson or the Colts did for Ryan. There are a handful of teams with younger franchise quarterbacks who wouldn’t, but it’s not the majority.

Garrett needs to start making plays to win games. He's never going to come close to defensive player of the year without it.

He goes way too long in between making great plays. With a better motor he's easily the best DE in football. There are way too many times when we need a play and he's either on the sideline or not making an impact.

In my nearly 30 years of life I'm still amazed at how the Browns still find new ways to disappoint me.
It’s all about inventing the worst possible outcome and making sure that you account for it. The score isn’t being bad, because that’s easy: you just get apathetic and use your Sundays wisely. It’s about max pain on the spectrum of disappointment.

Yeah it's hard to get on him too much when we only send 3 or 4 rushers, but he needs to start making plays in the 4th regardless. Gets gassed too easily, but again going to get gassed when you're the only threat.
