I forgot ESPN tries to squeeze as much nonsense out of their mediocre pregame show as possible and a 1PM start is really 1:10PM or later. Why couldn't NBC snipe the package from them instead of Turner? Shame.

ESPN can always push alot of their sports content onto ABC if cable ultimately fails and they can't pick up enough subscribers on streaming. Turners doesn't have a broadcast TV network to fall back on. That's why turners can't bid as much.

With ATSC 3.0, ABC could make a sports subchannels to create timeslots for all their content. Their risk in bidding for sports content is has a higher floor than turners.

You're looking at this the wrong way. JB isn't getting fired for losing game 7, he's getting fired because of everything leading up to game 7. For getting into this situation in the first place.

Making decisions like this is not about one game. It's a body of work, and JB has underperformed.

And that really started after the all-star break for this year..I think a lot of last years NY loss is weighing all too heavily on the FO's minds.
