Mobley hit a freethrow line jumper and a half spin turnaround using the glass. I want to see more of that, with his length those are unguardable. Just needs to let it fly and be confident.

Rebounding is still an issue with this team. If it was a better team, 19 orebs wouldve won the game.

I still dont like how clunky the offense is. This is against detroit and cavs cant manufacture good looks. I want to see better screening to open up shooters. Garland needs to take that top of the key 3 when bigs sag. When he over penetrates it's a sure turnover. Shoot that off the dribble 3 DG!

Anyways, love the 2 game win streak. Baby steps.

Some thoughts on Cade. I decided to focus on watching him a bit today because it has been a while since I have watched him. I think I second what we thought on this board around draft time. He is not a primary. The guy is a pretty good scorer - he has a good touch and is a good tough shot maker. But he struggles to create easy shots for himself due to his lack of burst speed or a shifty handle. His passing vision is fine for a scoring wing but not at the level of a true PG. He works mostly by read and react, not manipulation of the D. On defense, I think he will be solid moving forward. He has good length and a decent enough sense of positioning, although I wouldnt expect him to pull out any crazy plays like Ausar would. All in all, he still profiles something similar to a poor man's Paul Pierce or Iso Joe with maybe a little better defense. Probably will reach a few all star games and if things break correctly sneak 1-2 all NBAs, but he is not a franchise guy.

That's as quiet a 28 points as i've ever seen from DG.

5 turnovers on 3 assists is crazy.

Individual stats:

Starters:
Wade 3-1-0 in 22 minutes. He defended Cunningham well.
Mobley 18-10-5 with a steal in 35 minutes
Allen 10-7-2 with 5 blocks in 32 minutes
Strus 18-7-3 with 4 steals and a block in 39 minutes
Garland 28-3-3 in 34 minutes

Solid work by the starters.

Bench: 22-3-5 in 33 minutes. Pretty poor bench play except Porter.
LeVert 10-0-0 with a steal and 2 blocks in 33 minutes. An off night shooting, only 4-14. Still played good defense.
Porter 12-3-5 with a steal in 16 minutes
Merrill 0-0-0 1 minute
Thompson 0-0-0 1 minute
Bates 0-0-0 1 minute
Jones 0-0-0 1 minute

I dont get these NBA cup floors, Pels is bright green, since when has that been one of their colours

I thought he hit some big shots.

The passing is concerning. I still think, have always thought tbh, he's a better scorer than passer.

The lefty layup in the lane was really nice and a tough shot.

Yes, his scoring has always opened up his passing.

Games like tonight I just wish Mobley would get a little greedy.

Detroit doubled teamed someone other than Mobley.
