2023-24 Season | Game #3 | Pacers @ Cavs | Oct. 28, 2023

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Are we allowed to raise an eyebrow and question Garland's toughness at all?

My man hasn't managed to hit the 70 games played mark once in his career yet.

I don't know if I'm ever gonna be a Darius Garland True Believer. I just don't think I have it in me.
Does missing games after getting a finger in the eye reveal a lack of "toughness"?

If you think he's tough and gritty, good on you.

I don't.

I tend to think he's fancy, flashy, but lacks that "dog" in him, if you will.

Having that "dog" in him is a mental thing.

I do think Garland is mentally tough. To me, he has more of a "dog" in him than Mobley and Allen do.

But Garland is also somewhat injury prone. I don't know how much of that is in his control though.

Yeah, he had a laceration on the inside of his eyelid. No one is playing through that during the regular season. Also, getting angry at the smallest guy on the court for not being tough enough is like getting angry at Jarrett Allen for not being able to bring the ball up the court and split a double team with a cross-over dribble.

I'm angry that none of Garland's teammates give the opposing team something to think about after committing a hard foul on him. I'm angry that Okoro got knocked out after an elbow to the head, the officials let it go, and our only answer was to have JBB yell louder at the officials.

It's the third year running with the soft label affixed to the Cavs, we still don't have an enforcer, and our players still don't stick up for one another. But yeah, let's blame the smallest guy out there. Just absurd shit.

All I know is that I’ve won big betting against the cavs so far. I see no reason why that won’t continue tonight. GIVE ME THE POINTS!

Hmm, I think I disagree with this.

He's turnover prone late in games, showing a weak mental.

He regularly gets caught staring at the ball going up instead of staying focused on boxing out his assignment.

When I think of someone being mentally tough I think of someone who stays focused on the details, all the time. Doesn't get distracted. I don't think that describes Garland.

We're not beating anyone with Garland, Mitchell, and Allen out. Even if Mitchell is limited in minutes we aren't going to be competitive unless most of the team has a career night from the 3-point line at the same time.

3 games in and our whole team is already out and I’m not surprised at all

JBB is still being cryptic and wouldn’t give Chris Fedor a straight answer when asked about Mitchell’s availability just minutes ago

Not watching this game wow smh very disappointed
Do you only watch games you feel confident we’ll win?

Or do you watch games for part of the unique long journey of the regular season and the roster. With the intense game yesterday DG/JA/Jerome out and maybe Mitchell out, there will be some guys lower in the bench that get minutes and ti me as a fan, that’s interesting to see, win or lose, good or bad.

I don’t need to feel good that in October we’re ready or not ready for April. Or really much about seeding as long as we’re top6

Just seems like a ton of people fell asleep the moment after the Knicks loss, woke up opening night, and have no patience for anything other than safe, secure and immediate signs that we’re ready to avenge that loss and advance e out of the first round in April. That seems like an emotional slog of a way to experience the new full season but to each their own

So like what all coaches do when talking about player availability of guys who are questionable up until the report is due to the league?
