2023-24 Season | Game #65 | Suns @ Cavs | March 11, 2024 | 7:30 p.m.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
KD has somehow been overshadowed by Lebron and his own inability to win a championship on his own, but IMO he’s still a top five player in the league and one of the greatest ever

KD has to have one of the largest discrepancies between his on-court product and legacy. Up there with Karl Malone and Anthony Davis.

his weak-ass move from OKC to the Warriors will always be a cloud over his career. You don't just leave a team that was up 3-1 in the Conference finals to go to the team that beat you without looking weak. Leaving the Thunder isn't what killed his reputation, it was where he went.

Wade is still out for tonight’s game along with the usual suspects

The fucking season has way too many games, especially with how modern defense is played. Every year there is injury carnage in the late season which seriously affects the playoffs. If you want to be healthy for the playoffs you need to take significant time off.

Pet peeve, unlikely to be fixed unfortunately.

No surprise Mitchell's knee and Merrill's fallen shooting times together perfectly the struggle of the Cavs since the shocking first 76er game. They were driving the ship. Merrill fell off first, but Garland/Mobley(first injury plagued season) sorta made up for it. When Mitchell fell off, it was too much.

I don't have a problem with a minimum number of games, but only missing 17 out of an 82 game schedule is a pretty high bar.
I don’t have a strong opinion one way or the other; however, I kind of lean towards not having a requirement and letting the voters simply decide on the body of work and hopefully they’ll take into consideration the amount of games missed. Off of the top of my head, I can’t recall any player winning an MVP while only playing half of a season for example.

I‘m pretty sure the powers that be just wanted to try and get the maximum number of stars playing as frequently as possible in front of national television audiences

That's about 20%, I disagree. If you miss 20% of the season, you shouldn't be eligible for diddly.
I think it ought to be set at 60 games. Its too demanding of a profession to think guys that play the heaviest minutes, which is who this effects, won't get hurt a couple of times per year. Donovan is a great example - if he comes back soon and plays the rest of the way, he has more than done enough on the court to be eligible for honors this year.

I just saw on Yahoo Sports that Donovan is not on the injury list for today's game. Can anyone verify that?

I think 65 games is too low personally. I’d rather it be 68-70. If you miss that many games you aren’t deserving of awards.
