2023-24 Season | Game #73 | Cavs @ Hornets | March 27, 2024 | 7:00 p.m..

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Think his is all but fate is sealed after this one.

It’ll have to be a miracle conference finals run to even have the discussion of him coming back, in my opinion.

He doesn't want to be here. Won't agree to a extension. Cavs will be forced into a trade this summer.

I need an explanation why Morris didn't play not a single second. He was rewarded for his toughness last game but doesn't see the floor at all tonight? We needed somebody to rough them up in the second half so they wouldn't just go all willy nilly to the paint. We were not physical with them at all.

Didn’t get to watch - thankfully. But how in the Hell did we lose to Charlotte while making 19 3’s and shooting 43%? Did we play absolutely no defense?
They played a touch of defense in the 4th but of course it was too late since they couldn't get any shots to fall and empty possessions. But no. No defense at all for the first 3 quarters.

I agree. No matter who the coach is, I think the 4 is just less than the sum of its parts.

The fit is crazy bad. The DG/Spida pairing in theory should be lethal offensively but they are just ok while Defensively they can easily be exploited.

The inverse is true for Allen/Mobley. They are good defensive players but have difficulty closing out possessions with rebounds. Offensively, they muddy up the spacing by having limited offensive skills outside 5 ft.

Not sure which coach can solve this conundrum.

Thank You. Don't get me wrong, they should fire JBB.

I just hope they don't fire him, and think, we'll be fine. No, we WON'T be fine. We are fucked if Koby thinks that's fine.

I rather we just fall flat the rest of the way, if it means Koby makes serious changes.

WE CAN STILL FIX THIS.

This year? No, it's done. Forget it and move on. I still think we can keep Mitchell. I still think we can be good.

We have pieces we can part with. But will Koby do it? I'm not super optimistic. And if he can't, boy, he sure can get the fuck out of here fast.

I think Koby might be forced to. He's on the hot seat after this year. There's no way he's not.

I also think they could have just tried him on Miller who was lighting us up. Okoro was horrible and Strus was clearly a step slow in his first game back

DG was getting beat off the dribble by Man and Miocic consistently. DG was getting abused on D.

Allen and Mobley are just too weak, man. They are going to get bodied in the playoffs. BODIED.

Oh, and I'm just waiting for the Okoro "sore knee" to get announced. He's been kind of avg on D. He certainly doesn't look like the lockdown defender he was earlier this year.

Levert continues to emulate Larry Hughes. The assists are great. Our 6th man needs to score. Motherfucker needs to see a psychologist asap.

Lost in all this is Mobley's defense has regressed. All year he's been biting on pump fakes or getting moved off his spot. Choosing the wrong angles on the drive. Maybe its the scheme. Maybe he's being asked to do too much on D. Idk. All I know is he was shutting down entire sections of the court last year and not so much this year. Still way above avg defender, obviously.

No Marcus Morris minutes a game after he got jyd against the same team for providing toughness. And then we proceed to get outmuscled. Make it make sense.

And Garland dumbass turnovers.

Just an embarrassing loss.

So max contract DG is 5-15 shooting and the board takeaway is that JBB should be fired. Ok.

The Hornets rank 29th in scoring at 106.6 ppg and the Cavs let them score 118 in a meaningless game for them with four of their top players out and the Cavs needing every win they can get.

Inexcusable. JBB said they were "lazy" and "didn't bring their best effort". If he's right then this team deserves to get knocked out in the first round.

Only 15 points in the 4th quarter. They finally started playing some defense and held Charlotte to 18. All they needed was a 23-point 4th quarter.

Brandon Miller had 31 points in 35 minutes. He's going to be an All-Star. He reminds me of SGA.

Charlotte had 58 points in the paint. The Cavs were incredibly bad defensively and committed 13 turnovers. It seemed like every turnover led to a layup.

Nice to see Strus back, especially the 19 points in 24 minutes. Now we need Mitchell and Wade.

Zero….and didn’t score over the last 3 1/2 minutes when we barely would get shots off in 24 seconds
