Moore and DPJ would be my guess.

Really, whoever Ventrone wants.
I know injury is a big factor but if he’s fully recovered, it just makes sense to me that Ventrone would want a guy who was a top5 PR as recently as 2021

That said, I am not Bubba Ventrone’s burner nor am I a doctor who specializes in high level athletes recovery time from Achilles injuries

I don’t understand Mike Woods. Mediocre athletic testing, meh performer in college. Barely even registered anything in the NFL.

That dude is closer to selling cars in his college town than he is to the Browns practice squad.

He tends to look good at every opportunity. Had a fantastic camp last year before his injury.

Has good hands. Attacks the ball when it's thrown at him and runs hard after the play. Just seems like a guy who could turn out decent if he ever had a real opportunity. We're just in more of a win-now mode and can't afford to take that kind of chance.

Why did he suck in college then?

I know this sounds harsh but it’s a serious question.

I don't know. Probably a lack of opportunity or something?

Or maybe he does suck overall and just happened to have a decent camp and would suck if he saw the field more.

He spent three seasons with Arkansas - he was the second receiver behind Treylon Burks, and they were more of an old school run-first offense. He then transferred to Oklahoma to play for Lincoln Riley. Timing was poor because Riley didn't have a blue chip QB and Arkansas finally turned the corner without him.

So Woods has intriguing skills but never saw the type of production around him that would feature his skills well.

I think a lot of college athletes have to realize they aren't the star athlete of their school when they hit the college ranks. They have to work harder at their craft to beat out guys for opportunities which isn't usually the case for them up till that point. Sometimes they blame the coaching or something else at the school.

I think this is where the newer transfer portal rules is actually beneficial. Guys who think something is holding them back can go to a new program easier and not have to sit out that year. They get that reality check and may change their mindset before their eligibility is up.

Mike Woods might have gotten his reality check and started to work harder even if it didn't show in his college stats at Arkansas. That might be something the browns like in him and potentially see if taking a jump if his hard work pays off.

Maybe this is the case and I’ll always root for an athlete to exceed expectations but this off season seems to be trending downward for his roster spot.

"And the Dawg Pound is happily draining its flasks. Phooey on the future. The Browns are going for broke. They were 10-6 last year and traded their top three picks in this year’s draft in exchange for quarterback Brady Quinn, defensive tackle Corey Williams and defensive tackle Shaun Rodgers."

I think we've all tried to forget...
iu

For Brady effin Quinn. The Dublin Dillweed.

Njoku is the Vernon Davis of todays NFL. Specimen of a human in the top percentile of athlete.

65%
67%
72.5%

That’s the last three years of Njoku’s catch rate on targets.

They’re more comfortable and consistent when they look his way.

But ultimately, there has to be a next step there. I think he should be a 10 TD guy given his abilities.
