Njoku is the Vernon Davis of todays NFL. Specimen of a human in the top percentile of athlete.

65%
67%
72.5%

That’s the last three years of Njoku’s catch rate on targets.

They’re more comfortable and consistent when they look his way.

But ultimately, there has to be a next step there. I think he should be a 10 TD guy given his abilities.

I dont think he will ever live up to his physical abilities, but he has become a damn good tight end.

As for the 270lbs? if true, holy shit, its like another left tackle out there when he blocks, lol

Ridley has undoubtedly been the better player thus far in their respective careers. He's also six and a half years older, a knucklehead, will be going into the season having missed almost two years of football, and is making five times as much.

I tend to think that Moore has a very similar ceiling to Ridley. He's a little smaller, but he's a better athlete.
If Moore balls out it gives us flexibility to extend him, and then let DPJ or Amari go whenever their years are up (if need be).

Ridley has 1 year left and then could bounce, then DPJ has leverage on us bc we wouldn’t want to have a big hole at WR.

Moore will get the ball from a talented QB now, and he’s a self-proclaimed sponge who will be learning from Cooper. We gave up very little for a lot of potential here, and it’s a cheap experiment to run.

This was a really savvy move and I can’t wait to see the results on the field.

It's the type of move the Patriots in their prime would make.

Low-cost, high-yield move with an eye toward both immediate results and prolonging a contending window.

Whereas it is true the Browns could go with the Rams approach, and throw everything into a 2 year window with proven, but high cost talent, it is also not the best move for a team that isn't fighting Father Time with respect to their QB position.

With Watson locked up for years, as opposed to Stafford's very narrow window thanks to his age, the Browns are best served by taking the low-cost, 80% solution, than the All-In, costly 100% solution.

True, the Rams approach won them a Super Bowl. But the glory was most fleeting and their window shut once Stafford's age and injuries caught up to them.

Why is Ronnie Harrison tweeting a story from September 2020?

No teams are calling? BTW: Schwartz's scheme is a Belichick derivative just like Nick Saban. I believe in a connection between Crimson Tide defenders and the future Browns defenders. Harrison was a Saban product.

I know Schwartz goes way back to the Cleveland staff with Belichick and Saban--but do his defensive philosophies actually align with those other two?

I don't really recall the coverage philosophies that I identify with Saban and BB being used in Philly when Schwartz was DC, but I'd be lying if I told you I paid close attention and watched any film to study them.

If Schwartz's back end is expected to play in that style, I'm a little excited (Saban is probably my favorite defensive coach of all time) but also worried, as I'm not sure any of our safeties have what it takes to execute those coverage concepts.

Experten!

Who is the best of what's left?

I'd probably still try to pry JJ away from the Broncos as well. Jeudy could be Cooper's replacement for next season.

Who is the best of what's left?

There’s probably no one left out there that the Browns will give a multi-year deal to at this point.

Feels like RB, G, DE, DT, S could be areas where they add some cheap veteran depth. With DT being the spot they might skew towards someone a little more expensive.

Matt Ioannidis, Shelby Harris and Calais Campbell all seem like guys who could end up getting more than the minimum from the Browns.

Think you're looking at 3-4 more veteran FA additions--

Defense line is a must... Ideally, they should add another veteran edge rusher for depth and an iDL who can be your starter going into the year... Because of cost and need, I see iDL being prioritized as someone they would be willing to spend for as opposed to the veteran edge rusher being a one year minimum type deal.. Shelby Harris, Calais Campbell, Poona Ford and Matt Ioannidis would be the guys who could come in and start right away... Campbell doesn't seem to be on the Browns radar while Ioannidis seems like the ideal fit... I do wonder if they'll sniff around Mario Edwards or Suh, who was actually solid in his Eagles stint, given their Schwartz connection...

The veteran edge market is flush with options so I feel confident they'll be able to bring in someone for competition... Justin Houston and Carlos Dunlap would be at the top of my list but you have all of the following still out there: Ngakoue, Frank Clark, Melvin Ingram, Markus Golden, Leonard Floyd, JPP, Shaq Lawson, Bud Dupree, Robert Quinn, Trey Flowers, etc... There's not seats for all of them and Browns should be able to get at least one for a one-year minimum deal..

Safety is another position that falls in line with edge: While they've addressed it in FA, the depth is concerning and I don't think you fully solve either with a rookie... I would have been happy with Harman or McLeod as a starter so if they could get either to be S3, that would be ideal... Otherwise, Andrew Adams and Joshua Kalu have connections to Schwartz while Logan Ryan, Adrian Amos and Landon Collins are all bigger name guys that can still play...

Running back would be the other position I expect them to add a veteran at some point... I expect them to draft a RB too but the depth behind Chubb is Ford, John Kelly, Demetric Felton (who has been working as a WR this offseason) and that's it... RB is the least concerning of the positions given the ease of plugging a guy in, the ease in finding a guy (there will always be a serviceable vet available) and I do wonder if the Browns may elect to go with 7 WRs and 3 RBs given the roster balance right now... If they don't sign one in March/April, I would expect a veteran addition closer to camp... Jerick McKinnon, Rex Burkhead, JD McKissic and Giovani Bernard would all be guys who could fill that 3rd down role vacated by Hunt, and give Ford some competition...

How I'd rank them--
1). iDL
---
2). S
3). EDGE
--
4). RB
