Remember last year when after April we thought Kwan might be a pure hitter like that? Then he started huffing his own farts, refuses to swing at the first pitch so he starts every AB down 0-1 and is now a .260 average guy?

yea, that first pitch poop feels like its his brand.- he oughta be happy that the guy who plays next him hits the ball even softer (glad we didnt get agreement on an extension with him)

Kwan taking the first pitch in 99% if his ABs is absolutely frustrating. I've seen numerous pitchers use it as a meatball down the middle to get a favorable count.

Many times..(not to be confused with every time), it's the best pitch a batter is going to see in an at bat..

It's just his style... He will start swinging on forst pitches if pitchers continue to throw meatballs...

His style is detrimental to the offense recently. The batters behind him have been smashing lately. Would be nice to have Kwan on base more often. His patience is a great attribute, don't get me wrong. I just wish he would take a chance on juicy pitches early in the count and in the game.

That's the thing, with him it's a balancing act, when to swing earlier and when to not too...

I think anytime he's up with no outs, whether the bases are juiced or its the first pitch. If he sees a fastball down the middle he needs to put a bat on it.
