2023 NFL Off Season

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Him and the NY media will be funny to watch but I think he stays out of any real controversy. If this was young Aaron, maybe, but he's pretty picky about who he divulges his true thoughts. While he does love to hear himself talk he does still keep much about himself off public record. I think he says some hilariously cryptic stuff in the press conferences but he continues to keep his real thoughts under wraps and/or saves them for Pat McAfees show in the offseason.
Isn't he on a podcast regularly where he gives his thoughts about nearly anything and everything?

Fair deal imo. Compare to 1/15 for Odell and I’d MUCH rather have this

Barkley stuck on the franchise tag after the team gave Daniel Jones 160 million - 81 of which is guaranteed.

Man that franchise just constantly confuses me. I get the difference in value at their respective positions, but one guy is legitimately great and it's not the one who got paid.

It's especially funny given they took Barkley with the #2 overall pick.

That organization sucks. They likely peaked with a Wild Card win last year.

Yeah, I don't want to fault the current GM with the former's pick slot though. He didn't invest that specific resource into Saquon.

He did invest the money into Jones though, which is why I made the comparison that way. Just doesn't make a lot of sense. You extend your average quarterback, I would have assumed, so you could keep your core intact and hope to improve that way. Instead you alienate the best player on your team who is the engine of your whole offense.

It's a big reason I was happy the Browns extended Chubb. I know the position doesn't hold much value in the league and paying runningbacks always looks bad at face value. There are certain guys, Chubb and Barkley among them, however, that make your whole offense better in a way that most players never will.

I wouldn’t have signed Jones to that deal but tbh I’d also tag Barkley for 2-3 years then let him loose

I wouldn’t feel amazing having him on a 5 year deal unless I could very easily get out of it after 2 years

I'm with you. I just think there was a pretty clear path to giving him a "long term deal" that was only guaranteed for like 2 years but at least paid him equal or more than the franchise tag in those years.
