2023 NFL Off Season

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Wow, that is incredibly bad. The type of swing and miss that gets a front office fired.

Worse is it was done so far in advance of the draft, there were no guarantees of who SF would get with the #3 pick. If it was for the #1 and Trevor Lawrence and it didn't work out you could say you went all in for the top pick.

What the fuck happened. Last year he had all the hype in the world to be THE guy then he gets hurt and now a clearly talentless QB slots ahead of him?

Did he fuck Shanahan’s wife or something or was he just never good?

Hype from being from the same college as Carson Wentz. One year of starting at the FCS college level. Seeing Josh Allen's development and projecting it to another player (like those that dismissed Baker's height with "look at Drew Brees").

They could have gone a safer route and done a mini trade if needed on draft night to get Justin Fields or Mac Jones, who both played 2+ years at top 5 schools if they were worried about a plug and play QB if Jimmy G was injured again.

Mandy Shanahan isn't bad looking, btw.

That’s what makes the pick the worst ever. Dude had hardly any experience playing against legit competition. A lot of us had the same feelings regarding Wentz (were right) and Allen (wrong, as of now)

Did this guy bust this badly?

Check with the Cardinals fans in here.. but I'm pretty sure he's been awful.

He's been too small and weak to stop the run. He's not good enough in coverage. I'm pretty sure the only good plays Arizona has gotten out of him is when they bring him down and blitz him.

I think any team would be wise to try him out as a dimebacker-type role if it only costs a seventh. Use him on third downs and either blitz him or have him drop into a zone to bait the QB.

Change of defensive coordinators. Coaching staff saw him as a JOK style linebacker, he wanted to be a DB. Never got comfortable playing different positions. Which doesn't work well when you're pitched as a hybrid player. If this was a year or two ago I could have seen AB take a 7th round flyer on him. Too many quality roster choices to make this year for the 53.

John Lynch should keep sacrificing humans to that pegan God Kyle Shannahan so he can keep his job.

Lynch is a terrible GM. Shanny keeps bailing him out with some incredible coaching

It is perhaps unprecedented?

To trade a player just a single season after he was drafted, that took three 1st Round picks to acquire, for a 5th Round pick?
