2023 NFL Postseason

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
For those thinking the Chiefs will run away with the Super Bowl, SF opened as 2-2.5 point favorites. KC has won their last two games as underdogs, but think the line is appropriate. The Niners are stacked at pretty much every position except the most important one. The question is can they win the SB in spite of elite QB play.

Surprised they are favorites, really am. I have no idea why either. 49ers were lucky to win both these games TBH. And they've looked pretty underwhelming on both sides of the ball.

Yeah I hate the Super Bowl for that reason. I watch the game but all the other shit is horrible. The worst part is I saw Super Bowl V and every one since then so I’ve seen more bullshit tacked on to it every year.

I feel this week is the Super Bowl for real football fans. This is my favorite part of football week. I don't care for the charades either. It's about the game, and that's it.

People wondering what Detroit and Cleveland fans will / would do after that brutal loss and being angry with Campbell?

I live in Philly. They booed the Eagles with 1:10 to go in the first quarter on Opening Night 2018 having just raised the championship pregame. Something like this — best to shelter in place.

Apparently Campbell put money on the 49ers at halftime.

Another topic, if I'm a Lions fan, I'm not demoralized. They are SB close.

What did them in is their head coach, is a fucking idiot. And they got to get better defensively.

I'd fire Campbell and go get Vrabel if I were them.

Campbell is the guy that gets you near the top of the hill, not the guy that gets you over.

I hope they don't make the mistake, of being satisfied with this, and just run it back, thinking next year will be better. Most the times, it doesn't work that way.

They got to see this as 'we're close' but not close enough, and make that extra push.

If they do, they are my pick to be in the SB next year. If they just run it back, I don't think so.

Yes, Mike Vrabel and his vast SB experience as a head coach.

They're not firing Dan Campbell man.

Two off-seasons ago they traded their franchise QB in what was supposed to be a total tear down rebuild. Instead, they went like 9-8 last year and now made the conference title game.

Way too into the moment.

Also, it's the playoffs. "looking good" is out the window. You aren't supposed to cakewalk into the SB. These are supposed to be close, tough games against good teams.

Winning is all the matters. Style doesn't.

Why do you need SB experience? LOL. Mike Vrabel is supposed to win a SB with Ryan Tannehill? Who the fuck is winning a SB with that? Seriously....

Vrabel is miles better than Campbell.

Teams fire coaches in the NFL all the time, like it's nothing. We've seen franchises fire coaches back-to-back years.

Who gives a shit about what they were before. It's about where you think you can go. And after Campbell cock block them from going to the SB. It's not a ringing endorsement.

I don't think they will fire him, and I don't think they'll ever get to the SB either under Campbell too.

Dude isn't that good. Lions actually have gotten better, talent wise.

The strength of the team is not him. It's Johnson anyways. His offensive scheme is excellent. And they got great personnel, and Jared Goff is GOOD!

So what does he really bring? I don't think he did nothing, I do think he got them to believe in themselves. But from schematic point, he's actually not a good coach.

Yeah I wouldnt fire him but he did have a heavy hand in their loss

Here's one.

If PR and optics and whatever weren't a thing, if you were running the Lions would you fire Dan Campbell and promote Ben Johnson to HC to retain him?

I know that they can't do that. The blowback would be insane.

But how likely is it in 5 years that we all look back on the Lions and say that their window closed when Ben Johnson left?

I think it's very likely this thing goes the way of the Falcons with HC Dan Quinn and OC Kyle Shanahan...

The wife and in-laws are all Lions fans. I jumped on the bandwagon for a few games. Brutal loss. Felt like I was watching the Browns at times.

the longtime acronym for Lions football, repeated constantly on Michigan sports radio, is SOL.

they always say it stands for "SAME OLD LIONS"..........

i think that loss was more brutal than than any of the Kosar almost-wins, because at least Schottenheimer tried to win those games and he isn't remembered for so many horrible coaching decisions at the very moment the lights shone the brightest.

Sorry but have to disagree. It's easy to shit on Campbell after the fact but the aggressive play got them where they are. Fully trust in Campbell. I also think he doesn't have a kicker he completely trusts. Along with a CB and an end to play opposite of Hutch the Lions have got to find a kicker in the offseason.
