2023 Season | Series #23 | Guardians @ Diamondbacks | June 16-18, 2023

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Would've preferred 3-3, but 2-4 isn't bad on a roadie to San Diego and Arizona, given how well the snakes are playing this year.

Too bad we couldn't get Christian Walker in a trade last season... He was definitely on my shortlist...

More Naylor nailing.

If you only look at Win Probability Added for offense, and then take defense into consideration, there's a real case for Naylor. Usually that isn't the kind of stats that voters will look at though so just ased on what gets players into All Star games, the odds are stacked against Naylor for other reasons than being on Cleveland.

Ramirez is the guy who really deserves to be there, and is stuck at #9 in voting behind some real scrubs like LeMahieu.

Y'all can whine about Bo not producing hits yet all you wish, he still looks way fucking cooler doing nada at the dish relative to the corpse of Mikey Z

So when are we drafting Myles Naylor?

What's crazy is, with how hot Naylor can get and with as much power as he has, even then he still struggles to get his OPS over 800. Alot of hard hit singles.

Walker was just one of several upgrades that were on my shopping list, but the FO chose not to upgrade via trades.

There is always a price to pay to upgrade a MLB roster. At some point we have to be willing to pay the price, or we will continue to scratch along with an offense devoid of some major thump.

But I like what the Cincinnati GM said last week.

'It's not about getting top farm systems. Thats great, but at the same time, you're trying to make moves to sustain winning on the big league club, and trying to figure out what that is.'

The Reds also have top end prospects. Their MLB club appears to be a year ahead of schedule, like we were last year. But unlike our FO, they seem more willing to supplement a good young core with some outside upgrades.

Two offensive upgrades would have turned the Guardians from contender for a Central title into one of the most powerful teams in baseball...and the resources were (are) available to do so.

The DBacks asked for Jones and Benson that's why they were rebuffed.

Naylors EV, launch angle, barrel%, and hard hit rate are all the highest of his career. His overall numbers are depressed by an abysmal April. Since May 1st, his OPS is over .880.

I wonder...

When the last time a player was struck out by a position player before recording their 1st MLB hit. Seems possible there might be a historical footnote here, albeit a lame one.
