What makes you think Florial is on a short leash? Right now this team is ranked 14th in OPS and SLG. That's middle of the pack and slipping a bit. We're 14 due to 50 2B which ranks 5th. We're ranked 21st in HR and if we continue to slide in that category then so will the OPS and SLG. This lineup still needs some thump. Maybe it will come to the current lineup members, but I'm not betting good money on it.

No, I'm not saying that you have to hit HR to win ballgames. I am saying that you have to be able to do damage when you're facing the best pitching staffs come playoff time if you want to win series.

I find myself in a weird predicament. This is my favorite team so I'm enjoying the hell out of their success this season, but I'll be damned if the realization that this lineup is nowhere in the vicinity of the teams like the Orioles, Yankees, Dodgers, Braves, Phillies and Rangers(to name a few) isn't staring me in the face. I know a lot of the old timers love this lineup and the "contact ability" it has, but the last 20 plus years blatantly reveals what it takes to win in the postseason. In 2016 we were 9th in SLG and 7th in OPS and our SP was ridiculously good.

I thought Freeman had bad luck this year, but I had no idea it was that bad. If they stick with him and he gets 500 AB;s I'd be very surprised if he doesn't hit 15-20 homers. His ceiling is much higher than Rocchio or Arias, imo.
