2024 Guardians Regular Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Does this mean Gavin will be out longer than expected? Or is transferring him to the 60 day effective retroactively?
If Gavin was not on rehab by now, he wasn't going to be called up till June anyways so 60-day as its retro is meaningless designation. He can go on rehab at anytime w 28-days to build up as starter. But, haven't heard anything recently, so who knows.

Just posted that Aleman and Stanley went on 7-day minor IL so could be that as well.

I don't think so. Haven't heard of any setback(s) so it should be retroactively applied.

The latest on Williams was a week ago being cleared to throw after anti-inflammatory injection appeared to work. 1st session was without pain but nothing since. So again, typical routine, build up throwing distance, pitch off mound, pitch on mound, bullpen, sim/live hitting bullpen, then maybe AZ game, ..... So 3-6 weeks min depending how quickly he ramps up even for reliever (but as its been awhile, they will go slow). And, to get 6 inn is 4-6 game process at least.

Why's that? Who is gunning for his spot in centerfield exactly? Sure it would be nice if he could flip the switch like that, but he has definitely shown excellent skills minors and some metrics to like. He just needs some time IMO, he has one of the better toolbags of the "new" players.
Because the team needs offense from him. He needs to do a lot better than 196. I think he will turn it around, but the time is now.

Man, our pitchers are dropping like flies. Wtf?

Long time coming with McGaughan. Was one of my favorite deep sleepers in that draft class.

Myles Straw is performing rather poorly in AAA... He should be one of the better players there, but his line is garbage. This isn't counting today's game or it'd be even worse.

I’m assuming he’s not good with the Marlins of all teams trading him for cash? Unless they’re that shitty of an organization.

Unbelievable we’re on the hook for 6.4 million for him next year and then 7.4 million the year after that.

I'm not surprised. Offensively, there aren't many weaker players in MLB.

Marlins actually are pretty good at developing pitching, so getting cut from them actually may not be a bad sign...

Either way, this is a pure depth move with Kent out... They are trying to get more guys who can eat innings on paper...

This was just a way to maximize the players on the roster and nothing else...

Once Williams is ready, it's either Kent to a 60 day IL (depending on how his rehab goes) or someone is being DFA'D...

This is extremely important to remember when considering someone like Tyler Freeman. Josh Naylor took a minute to arrive too even though he still produced somewhat while getting there. If he can reach his potential he could end up a very good player. Fingers crossed.

Tyler Freeman or Brennan...pick one's future and why. I am not convinced on Freeman personally, but I think its close. Freeman being 2 years younger makes a difference, but I still see more in Brennan personally.
