Cleveland normally keeps 3 catchers at each level so it's odd just seeing two catchers so I wonder if we will get one or two more moves that way...

NRI RHP Tyler Zuber got released too.

No surprise that mostly older prospects who were drafted in 2018 got cut, as they're going into their last year of club control. Only players with a shot at MLB are kept under those circumstances. Those include: Hankins, Torres, Delgado, Schneemann, Planez.

They had too many upper minors catchers anyway. They still have Micael Ramirez and Joe Donovan as fillers for Akron and Columbus, but I could also see them roll with just Nunez and Lava, both are experienced enough and would get 98% of the playing time anyway and they need the roster spots for others.

AA: Ingle, M. Ramirez (Donovan could serve as 3rd C for both affiliates)
A+: R. Lopez, K. Huff (Tincher, Filia?)
A: R. Velazquez, M. Mejias, (Tincher)

You'd still have IFA pedigree Victor Izturis who should get reps in A Ball too. Jose Cedeno, Logun Clark are already blocked back to Arizona to go along with one or two DSL transfers (Arosemena).

Interesting that Leftwich didnt make AAA cut but Dion and Stanley did. And thus is Burns a starter or reliever?,

That is an interesting question, since I don't see 5 true starters on the list IF Burns isn't considered a starter...

A couple surprises here for me... I thought for sure it would be Cooper Ingle starting at catcher in Akron, not Kody Huff. Also no Connor Kokx in AAA or AA? Hmmm, where is he?

I think Watson will get OF time as well...

Not sure about Kokx though... Also one of the national scouting guys was high on Huff, so maybe the AA placement says Cleveland is as well... Ingle, I think his bat is ahead of his defense...

Huff over Ingle is probably age and defense related, though it's surprising he jumps A+ level.

No Kokx and also no Gabriel Rodriguez, hmmm. No priority. They'll wait it out in EST, I guess.

A surprise for me is Lampe at AA over Fox. Must have had a very strong ST. Mlbpipeline article did highlight Lampe as breakout player.

I do believe Huff is the 1st player since JRam to go from A- to AA ball... Let's hope history repeats itself.

Saw somewhere that Lampe came into camp 20+ pounds heavier... Must be showing them something.
