2024 Minor League Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Has anyone "found" Gabriel Rodriguez? He is listed on Akron's website, but he is not on the roster they released (or rosters of other levels). Also, he is not mentioned in a transaction. He did get an at-bat in a MLB spring training game. Thoughts? Just seems strange.

That hitting lineup actually looks pretty legit though...

Yeah, that AAA rotation looks a little rough...
Yet I am told by some we don't have a pitching depth problem lol, and no I don't think Cantillo was the answer either

Dion just got clobbered too in AAA, and he was supposed to be one of the options. Someone will have to take the magic next step forward or we are screwed in terms of depth.

Connor Kokx is also MIA. As Tondo suggested in a previous post, both of these guys are likely staying in AZ for EST. They'll keep working, and may get a shot if a spot opens up.

Notable names I expected to open on full season rosters:

3B G. Rodriguez
CF C. Kokx
OF I. Greene
INF F. Alduey
INF C. Tucker
OF B. Riebock
OF C. Espinola
C V. Izturis
RHP J. Santos
LHR S. Rapp

I don't expect any of them to get released, as most are young and relatively fresh in the system with years left of control, so they're probably depths depth at this point, which highlights how deep the system has become, especially in the OF.

Now there also was that virus that went through camp, so I wonder if some got delayed cause of it?

Shawn Rapp was the 1st player promoted during the 2023 season from the 2022 draft class and overall his results were pretty darn good. He is either sick, banged up or my preferred guess, going through some mechanical/pitch arsenal adjustments.

Connor Gillispie feels like another SP who could get RP time... He's only got a two pitch mix, but put up a good SO to BB ratio in 23... I feel like he's one of those Kirk McCarty types... Knows how to pitch, has good command, but doesn't have good enough stuff to really stick in MLB...

So, Manzardo didn't play in the Clippers 2nd game. I hope he's not injured. Any word?

I think it's the get everyone in? I didn't see or hear anything about him being hurt. It was just a rotation of a day off is all...

Maybe, but with only 12 hitters on the roster, I'd think Manzardo was the last one to get rotated out, not the first, especially with an off day following, which makes me think he's nursing something and they're giving him consecutive days off. Kyle is high priority and should get as many PA as possible

I think they are rotating the three who sit... Like everyone is also rotating on defense as well IF they can play multiple positions...

I really don't think it's honestly a worry...
