Putting up a thread to track some stuff for 2024. I'm going to wait probably 8-10 more games to pull data.......but the one Cavs related prospect who's bubbling up a bit here is Cody Williams from Colorado. If you are trying to match need and draft slot.

I'll post a large data set in a few weeks.......just showing consensus 60 or so picks and who is standing out through half a season.

If anyone is watching someone and wants them included, just post a name and I will roll them in to the dataset.

It's literally crazy how good your predictions have been when you look back 3,4,5 years. I look forward to you making me look clever in front of my friends again this year

So we couldn't get his brother so let's just grab him, huh? I'm in favor of it!

Hey @I'mWithDan what do your models say about Reed Sheppard? Seems like he could be one of the biggest splits between eye test and stats in recent memory.

I’ll add him.

I will say the one guy nearly breaking the model currently early season is Dillon Jones out of Weber State. He withdrew last season and then has been absolutely balling out to start this year.

I think he’s probably similar to Reed in that he doesn’t look like an NBA athlete but he is just absolutely putting up stats and dominating.

The draft model loved Grant Williams and Roddy for example, two players who carved out productive roles minus plus athleticism. So Jones is another guy I would earmark for the Cavs…..as a rugged 3/4 type who can bang, be a connecting passer and knock down shots.

Haven't really dug into any prospects yet, but I have no idea what to make of him. Insane 62/61/100 splits, 3 SPG vs only 1.5 TO per game... just some unbelievable stat lines there. But he's also not a super athlete, only 6'3" and a shooting guard... There just isn't much of a precedent for a guy like him.

My first time sneaking in here to start my research of Cody Williams, Sarr and Bradshaw from Kentucky.

(shrugs)

Also, similar to @red. have been intrigued watching Tyler Smith's skillset that he's flashing for the GLeague Ignite.

Today and with our team makeup assuming this will be our team next October, Tyler Smith is my early favorite a long 3/4 type player with lots of upside.

Assuming Cavs make the playoffs and have a mid to later pick, I don't think Smith will be available. His size, stroke, smooth running style, l think he will be gone by 8-14.

huh? if this is Dillon Jones out of Weber State he's a hefty 6'6 forward? Seems to have cooled off a bit in terms of his shooting as well..

This is just a trial balloon. There has been much argument about duplication of talent on the Cavs. Also, whether JA's resurgence is because Mobley is out. So,,,,
Would you trade EMobley to the Rockets for Sengun?
Trading defense for offense, and a little more space.

Sengun is the only guy i wouldn't immediately say no to. "Sengun and..." would get my attention.
