2024 NBA Draft

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I am the biggest Purdue fan on the board. I just dont think he will play well in the modern NBA. At his lack of speed, he needs to be able to shoot, and her really doesnt have 3 point range.

I dont see it personally.

He is one of the more fascinating guys in some time. First round guys, who land in the upper range of PDIFF at Center, just RARELY ever bust. Wiseman is on here but it was what? 4 college games......so his data probably isn't worth having (even though I leave it in).

That is just a crazy list, comparatively speaking, to other positions. And you also see guys like Kessler and Williams, who performed on Edey's level and really popped as non lotto picks.

I genuinely don't know where I land on him........but this list certainly has a wide range of skill styles and athletic profiles. And I tend to firmly land in the "I have an open mind" camp, given the success of the model, especially with 1st round Centers. Will be really interesting.

He became a good foul shooter. I know from being an alumni and following Purdue, Edey has worked on a three point shot. I dont see why he cant carve out a Haenstein level career especially if he develops a shot, but I dont think he stars in the NBA, just a backup center level player.

Which obviously is still very good considering he came into Purdue as the 400th ranked recruit and became a 2 time POTY and took his team to a final 4. Any extended NBA career would be huge and a bonus for Matt Painter and future recruiting.

I think he does well in the NBA. He is massive and he has good hands. Good hands is one of the key predictors for really big guys. Guys like Big Country Reaves, Yao, Smits, and other really big guys all excelled because they had good hands and soft touch. Its also one of the great strengths of Joker. When you are that big, you don't have go be a great athlete, but you do have to be able to catch and finish.
