2024 Season | Series #1 | Guardians @ A's | March 28-31, 2024

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Also, anyone else think Fry would be a good pickup in fantasy especially for the catcher position?

It depends on your bench depth since he will always start against lefties and he has looked legit this spring and the first game in... I just don't know how often he is going to play... I am not sure if he's gonna be everyday or always against lefties and a guy that gives others days off... Also I feel like he's not going to put up amazing numbers, just a solid everyday type...

Tons of posters in here were thinking of trading him before the season because "he ain't the old biebs".

Crazy how one start throws us all back on track.
In fairness, he did this against the equivalent of a AAA roster. Plus, health has been issue #1 since 2021; can he stay off the DL long enough to be a valuable trade piece? Either way, its a great start considering the route the Gs have decided to take.

Fry has consistently put up an XBH for every ten at bats. Thats pretty good for fantasy...and he will probably qualify for at least three positions, including catcher.

As Coach points out, the problem is how much opportunity he will have...and that doesn't look good for fantasy.

At some point fairly soon, Manzardo will be up, and that will severely cut into Fry's PT as the DH and back up 1B. Manzardo won't be coming up to platoon much.

In the present, the org is hell bent on giving at bats to Arias and Florial that (if winning was the objective) often should go to Fry.

Can’t imagine they’re playing today or tomorrow.
I was thinking of flying out for a game this weekend. Field box tickets behind the G's dugout for $35. I checked weather.com and it was sunny and 75. Then I realized it was Oakland, FL. 60 degrees, raining and a five hour flight? I'll watch from home.

In Oakland, FL there are really only two main intersections directly off the turnpike. Major speed and yellow light pullover traps. Ask me how I know. It's where Linndale police retire to. :chuckle:

But, they need to try as after Seattle (with next day in Minni), the closest they get to the West coast is Texas and Arizona with a day off to travel but As are playing both of our travel days. We can get one DH on Sunday but not much more to miss 2 ....

Just looks like consistent rain both days. The As track gets soupy from what I remember.

A rain out would almost certainly force us to play a DH this weekend...and then we would have go with our #7 SP in the coming week.

Two rainouts would be a nightmare.

This is the only visit we make to Oakland. We don't go to Arizona, SF, or SD this year, and our only series at Seattle is coming up next.

That leaves us with a trip to Anaheim and Colorado, with a travel day before and after...and a trip to LA, with a travel day from KC before.

The big problem is that Oakland is scheduled on every one of those off days.

I have to imagine they're going to do everything in their power to not have two games rained out given the circumstances.

Considering the fans are openly boycotting the team, I wonder if there's anything in the CBA against just playing games behind closed doors in the middle of the night. 3AM baseball? Make it so.

Just play the games in Cleveland. It's not like Oakland is losing out on gate revenue.

@BMAN

This lineup kind of tells you how they will use Fry I feel like... He went 3-4 and looked good, but isn't playing tonight. Him and Laureano are both sitting against the RH starter, so my hunch is Fry is the platoon vs LH SPs and fill in on guys days off...

100%.

Josey is my favorite player of all time and the best part is how much the reasons why I love him so much rubs off on others.

Ultimate follow the leader guy.
