Good series win.
After some lousy defense by Bo, we saw great defensive plays from Arias and Laureano.
Clase is pitching both up and down in the zone, making him virtually unhittable and racking up more Ks.
Cookie should have left unscored. His FB had more zip and the secondaries got a lot of whiffs down in the zone, but the problem is that EVERYTHING is down in the zone. He's not willing or capable of changing hitters eye levels. That's what Lively is so good at. Hitters can basically split the zone in half vs Cookie and just try to golf balls down in the zone.
Also, if that's his game, down in the zone and dirt, I'd like Hedges to become his personal catcher. Bo just lacks consistency and has too many mental lapses.
As good as Arias was at SS today, as terrible he was at the plate. Half the Lake County lineup would have put up better ABs, I'm not joking. He added 2 more 3 pitch strikeouts. He now has 10 (TEN !!!!) of them in 73 trips to the plate. Insane. For a guy closing in on 500 PA at the MLB level and getting worse with regular playing time instead of better. Not good.
The defense and versatility will give him more rope. As well as Rocchio's own inconsistencies. But time is running out on Arias with Brito and Schneeman knocking.
