2024 Season | Series #6 | Guardians @ Red Sox | April 15-18, 2024

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
3 singles. One immediately wiped out by a GIDP and the other two harmless with two outs.

Incredible pitching by Houck. 11 ground outs and 9 strikeouts. No walks.

Sometimes we'll have these games. Come back tomorrow for the series win.

Gotta give credit where credit is due...

That was a CLINIC put on by Tanner Houck. Very impressive performance.
I have a rookie card of his somewhere so I can only applaud this outcome.

Can't win them all. Can still win the series tomorrow, then the Sacramento Bees come to town.

Houck was on top of his game tonight. Hats off to him.

Raise your hand if you had Arias ever playing CF. I know I didn't.

Regroup and secure the series win tomorrow.

Who’s this Parsons guy? He seems all right!

Picked him up on the waiver wire from the Jays... Likely to be replaced on the big league club by Pedro Avila...

He didn't do so hot with the Jays but has put out four scoreless for us so far...

Tip the cap to Houk. He would have sat down the 95 Indians. We are still in good shape and have a bright future. Sp is a concern though moving forward

4 innings, 4 hits, no runs, no walks, 5 K's against the Yankees and Red Sox. OK, he's 31 year old and has only pitched 50 major league innings with a career 7.71 ERA, but he's throwing 96 and mixing in some breaking stuff. I want to see more.

Big picture - Lively looked good, much better than I expected. Five innings and only one run allowed if you take away the phantom balk which wasn't a balk. But the Red Sox are crappy hitters, especially with O'Neill out. Let's see what Lively can do in his next start.

So the rotation should shake out to be Williams, Bibee, Allen, McKenzie, and Carrasco in some order with Curry and Lively standing by.

Looks like we'll get Houck again on Tuesday. Both teams play four games the next four days and are off Monday. Should be another Houck-Lively matchup, this time in Cleveland.
