I wish Ohio State played in the south....So we as fans wouldn't have to go through this.

lol @ OSU Fans...

It's not about the cars...it's about your coach being a habitual liar.

Of course by habitual...you mean, once.

Excellent point...

Or, you know, the multiple times he lied to OSU and the NCAA about tattoo-gate. Or about how he didn't tell anyone about the information he received (Sarniak and the former FBI agent don't count right?). If he lied in those situations, it's likely that it wasn't the first time he lied about something.

Excellent point though

Keeping eating up the crap that ESPN and the like are feeding you.

Is there proof that Tress was a habitual liar?

I think they are all habitual liars...and I'm pretty much ok with that. We need to open our eyes and stop assuming that the world works any differently.

Actually I don't believe he's ever on record as saying he didn't tell anybody. Gene Smith pretty much cut him off before he answered in the original press conference.

Also, the only time he lied was on the NCAA compliance form asking him if he knew any violations.

But of course, with the guy who TOLD him about the violations now facing charges for telling him...who knows what sort of legal obligations Tressel was under to keep quiet.

I'm certainly not going to assume he shouldn't have told compliance, but it will be interesting to see how it plays out.

You keep going back to this excuse. The Lawyer didn't protect his potential clients confidentiality. Anyone who watches 10 minutes of Law and Order could have seen that comming. What code of ethics was Tressel being held to besides the NCAA's that we don't know about?

I'm not using it as an excuse. I'm simply saying we don't know.

Hopefully you'll keep watching Law and Order to eventually find an answer.

Most of us that arent in denial know the answer. Tressell had an obligation to make OSU and the NCAA aware of possible violations. If he felt so worried about the federal case, he doesnt have to reveal his source. Ofcourse, he had no problem talking to one of Pryor's handlers about the situation. I am sure Pryor's handlers had a much better track record of confidentiality over OSU's compliance department or the NCAA,

Also, since when did the media give a pass to Alabama. They got murdered all last season. I still think Alabama is lucky as hell and that Newton's dad is a complete piece of shit. I think Tressell made some bad decisions, but is not a piece of shit. I also think that Sabon cheats more than Tressell but has been smart or lucky enough not to get caught.

Umm...

Newton played at Auburn.

Most of us who aren't in denial realized that though.

But anyway, back to the original point about Tressel and the uncertainty regarding a federal investigation.

JT called an FBI agent days after receiving the information, and Sarniak a short time after that.

Not sure what the conversation with the FBI entailed, but I'm curious as to how making the information he received investigation public (aka telling compliance) would have played out.

Would Tress have been called to testify in that scenario?

Again, just an interesting bit of information that has yet to come to light. I believe Tressel should have told compliance regardless, as I would think he's under no obligation to NOT tell anyone. Granted, that could have resulted in him being investigated or brought into court to testify...but who really knows.

But clearly, if you don't believe Tressel was 100 percent wrong and trying to fuck everyone...you're just in denial at this point.

And furthermore, Alabama players are clearly making more money than Ohio State players.

Four days later, a call was placed from Tressel's office phone to the home of FBI Special Agent Harry Trombitas of Columbus. The call lasted less than a minute. Trombitas' son, Matt, is a former walk-on quarterback who was on the roster of Tressel's 2002 national championship team.

The next night, Trombitas called Tressel on his cell phone and they spoke for five minutes, records show. Trombitas told The Dispatch that the call "wasn't related to anything like the situation that came out in the media."

Trombitas said he believed the call involved Tressel seeking information on behalf of a "friend of the coach or a former player who knew of a kid interested in (a career with) the FBI."

Trombitas said he and the coach never discussed the situation underlying the NCAA violations leading to the school's proposed five-game suspensions for Tressel and five players. Ohio State and its coach face possible NCAA sanctions for ethical misconduct and allowing potentially ineligible players to compete.

Tressel calls guardian of player involved...huge deal and big story because obviously Tressel told him everything Cicero told him.

Tressel calls guardian of former player who just happens to be an FBI agent days after receiving a tip regarding a federal investigation....pure coincidence and Tressel said nothing important.

Hmmmmm

I don't doubt they didn't talk about "what came out in the media."

The whole storyline certainly hasn't.

What? There were e-mails to the Pimp Daddy that prove he was informed and part of the inner circle of deception. With the FBI its circumstational.
