ALDS Game 4: Can Byrd perform?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
6 Strikeouts in 15 ABs for the series. 1 RBI, on the solo shot. A solo shot that meant little to nothing seeing as how the yanks were done at that point anyway.

Amazing what A-Rod does in the postseason (or what he doesnt) this guy is the best April-September player in a long time, maybe ever, but when the postseason comes, he looks like Willy Mo Pena, tries to kill the ball everytime, and swings at anything you throw him. Wonder where he will end up? To me, having a guy break records in a uniform isnt worth paying for him to just fold in the post-season.

I agree with Tony Gwynn... A-Rod didn't swing the bat bad at all... Sure, he struck out a few times.. But, he did hit a few screamers, that were just caught..He wasn't impressive by any means, but alot of that had to do with nasty Indians pitching... Fausto abused him in game 2.. Then again, he abused everyone (only giving up 3 hits)

imo, Jeter and Posada hands down were the two biggest chokers in this series along with Wang..

Posada in game 1 swinging on 3-0 with the bases loaded... Then not blocking that pitch from Joba...

Derek hit the ball hard many times, but he hit into way too many double plays in big time situations, and like Arod, he hit some critical popups...

Wang just got rocked by the Tribe.. He's beyond overrated...

Yep, he's definitely not worth the kind of money he will probably make. They were saying on ESPN radio this morning he could get an offer of 10 yrs/$350M. That is just absurd. I hope if a team does that they lose every year with him on their roster. No one is worth that kind of money, especially if they fold in the playoffs. Record-breaker or not.

He swung the bat fine, but from watching him....this is just my opinion, he cant handle the presure, look at the cuts he took....he tried to kill the ball instead of just trying to work the count and wait for a good pitch, which is something he can do during the regular season, he is a whole different person in the post season, its been one of the only constants with the yankees these past couple years....knowing that he is going to have a lack luster performance.

Mariano sounded pissed off at the Yankees after the game... I doubt he leaves, but if he did ? I'd love to see him as the Tribe's closer.... I don't care how much he's "lost it"-- He's still a top closer, and is much better than JoBo...

No way he leaves though...

Seriously, itd have to be a team like the Cubs, or maybe even the Mets, dont really want to bring the Red Sox into this, but Theo wont bring A-Rod in, he isnt dumb. Heck, maybe even the Dodgers. But then you get into the money, would a team offer him stock as part of a deal? Ownership as part of a deal? Boras IS his agent, so only god knows what kind of deal he can broker for this guy.

No way he goes to the Mets.. None..He will get as far away from that situation as possible..

Cubs, Dodgers, Angels or maybe even the Giants imo....

^Forgot about the Giants, that would be a good fit for A-Rod. It deffinitly seems like Cali would be a good fit for him, especially the Bay Area......he would fit right in.

I see Angels or Giants. And I agree, he will want to get as far away from NYC as possible.

On a side note, here's what Red Sox fans are saying about the BoSox/Tribe matchup in the ALCS. They are pretty much in line with my sentiments. The teams are very evenly matched, which hopefully will make for an outstanding series:

Suzyn is such a tool.. I listen to WCBS Yankees radio all the time.. Trying to listen to her and Sterling broadcast a game is so bad it's beyond belief... Hamilton and Hegan put ringers around Sterling and Waldman...

She's worthless..
